2001 Ford Focus shuts down and quits with little warning.
Back in the 80's I had a ford maverick with similar problems. The relays were on the wheel well. It was by luck I bumped the relay and it was very hot. Next time it shuts down check the temp on the relays. If one is real hot that may be you problem. My neighbor had a similar problem with a blazer she thought it was the fuel pump. Before I changed the fuel pump for her I swapped the A/C relay with the fuel pump relay(they were the same relay) . She live there about 6 months before moving and to my knowledge she never had the problem. I agree with you I think it is something to do with electrical and overheating is a sign of a problem.

Mondeo 1.8 y reg petrol. My car wouldnt start
Sounds like you have a loose connection on a battery cable. loosen the bolt and pull off each end and clean, then replace. When you clean them, make sure you get down to clean metal.

Jerking Under Acceleration & Radio is effected when this happpen
check the battery ground wire for tight and clean on the engine
check both battery terminals are clean and tight
the problem is from a loose /broken wire that is moving when the engine reacts to load ( engine mount failure )
on some other makes it can be traced to the cam position or crank position wires broken or bare

Loose steering wheel
Disconnect negative battery cable(10mm).
Insert key and rotate steering wheel until one of the mounting bolts for the airbag are visible from the backside (7/32 or 5.5 mm).Unscrew and rotate 180 degrees until the other is visible.Pry airbag off with a small screwdriver (being very careful) release yellow connector and place airbag aside with leather or vinyl pointing up.
Use a 24mm socket and tighten to 37 ft.pounds.
Reverse procedure to re-install airbag.
Connect cable and remember the computer will have to relearn its settings so car may run different for a while..

How do I fix a problem of engine cutting out when I have air conditioning on and I slow down ?
idle air control valve problem , maybe ! Clogged passage . When you put extra load on the engine , such as turning on the A/C the PCM is suppose to raise the idle RPM . With a up scale scan tool you can see if the PCM is controlling the IAC valve . There are videos on you tube on cleaning The IAC , plus testing !
PCM is the engine computer ,just in case your not familiar with that .
