Anti theft system

The chip is in the key. Either the key has lost it's program or the transceiver is not recognising the key. Try another key if you have one.

When is the electric cooling fan suppose to come on.

The info I looked at was for v6 engine. The fan turns on at 105c or 221 f. If engine is overheating, I'd want to know, how hot in degrees f? If you turn on ac, the fan may run? The ccrm controls the fan. Check for applicable cooling fan trouble codes? Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction. It may be possible to use jumper wires from battery to connector that goes to fan, for voltage and ground, just to see if fan will run. If it won't run, suspect fan itself. Just to be safe, you might use inline fuse on jumper.

2 plugs on each side of the motor, under the exhaust manifold center of block you cant miss them. Tap them gently on the sides to turn them, then pry them off. Do not drop them inside the engine thus they are impossible to remove.

I have a 1998 ford

It's likely one of the door switches is damaged causing the door open signal. It can also be caused by the key in the ignition, so don't rule out a faulty key insertion switch.

Have your husband or a mechanic test these parts for accurate functionality.
