1991 Dodge Ram Questions & Answers
It takes starting fluid no matter what for my 1991 Dodge Stealth to start when its warm or cold
And then it runs good? If yes, there is a problem in your fuel pump circuit. It could be a bad fuel pump relay, but the circuit clearly has a problem. The engine computer should signal to the relay to send power to the pump when you are trying to start it. In fact when the key is turned to on, the computer should activate the relay and turn the pump on for about 2 seconds. That puts enough fuel pressure at the engine, so that cranking the engine over should start it- no fluid needed.

If the battery stays up and you have no other problems could just be a lose connection dont worry about it.
Ram 250 will crank but not start occasionally. Any ideas?
As a rule, intermittent problems when starting are electrical, whereas constant problems are mechanical. I would suspect a bad ignition coil, starter selenoid, or perhaps even a fuel pump that is going bad. Unfortunately, we the laypersons have no good way to test these things until they go bad altogether. If you can provide more info, such as what time of day this occurs, whether or not it is a cold start or if the truck was driven earlier in the day, that sort of thing, I can maybe help a bit more. Good luck to ya!
