Intending to buy a 2003 Buick Regal -- Overheating problem?
Buying a used car is always a gamble. Sometimes you can reduce the risk, and carfax is one way to help that. But even carfax is not a solid guard against problems. The two accidents are worth noting but not a deal breaker. As long as the title is clean and the car has not been a total loss, the repairs were probably done correctly. You should always have the car checked out by another mechanic or shop you can trust. That goes for any car you plan on paying more than two grand for. Another shop should have no interest if you buy the car or not.It will cost you a couple of hundred to get a car checked out, but at that point you will know what the car may need in the short term, and you can use that info to debate the asking price if needed.Service records are extremely important and add value to the car. So does buying it from the current owner or as a trade-in. Auction cars are the most risky and that is what occupies most dealer lots.
How long should it take to change spark plugs on a 2003 buick regal?
Sometimes they have trouble getting the boots off with out tearing up the plug wires. I've changed them in a half hour, and other times its taken me an hour when they were being stubborn. And if he had to go get them adds to the time too. That may seem like a lot of time, but you don't always know what he is up against. So yes it could be a little long, but maybe not. If he has a good rep. I'd trust him.
Car shutting down when i use the turn signal
I had the same problem with my 2003 Buick Regal ls, the ignition switch needs to be changed. Once replaced the trans will shift better and the electrical systems will appear brighter. It requires special screwdriver bits to remove the plastic around the steering wheel and the switch itself besides that it takes about an hour to replace since everything else is as simple as following wires to two different plugs, one at the ignition and another under the dash to replace it. Make sure the two screws that holds the ignition switch in place are tight or it will be hard to turn the key afterwards.
