If it's leaking where the filler neck goes into the fuel tank, it's probably cracked right there. This is a known issue with the Rendezvous, and many of them, with a certain VIN number, were recalled and repaired at no charge to the owner. But there were MANY more with the same issue that Buick refused to include in the recall. Apparently they finally adapted the recall to include ALL Rendezvous', but with the provision that the engine had to have less than 150,000 miles on it. I doubt if many, actually if there were ANY at all that were still under 150,000 miles by the time they made the change. Pretty scummy move on Buick/GM's part, considering the price tag just on the fuel tank, no labor included, is between $900-$1,000. Then you've got about 3-4 hours worth of labor charges to drop the old tank and put the new one in. Sorry. I'm in the same boat.

It means the engine computer lost the theft pass code from your ignition key. This could be caused by a bad chip in the key, or a problem with the ignition tumbler or steering column wiring (many times older high mileage vehicles the wiring breaks in the steering column causing the signal to be lost intermittently). If this happens while your Buick is running, it is warning you it MAY not restart if you turn it off because a loss of theft deterrent code was detected. If this happened when the key is turned on, but engine not started, the engine will not start as the engine computer thinks the car is being stolen.

Thats a vapor lock problem with your carborator, or you have a cracked distributor cap. Sounds mre like vapor lockthough to me. Carb needs fixing.

A lot of thing's could cause it to run rich , instead of going to a part store an getting a scan , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Class action lawsuit gm ???? Your car is too old , an thing's wear out over time . Could be ignition switch problem ,your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic skill's an tool's to find the problem .

Given the amount of electronic's ( computers ) on your vehicle ,it could be a lot of thing's . Hooking up a factory or professional grade scan tool that can communicate with all the control modules on the vehicle should be the first step in the diagnostic problem . Checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes , communication between module errors etc..... Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has the proper diagnostic equipment to check it out . The power door lock system consists of the following components: • Body control module (BCM) • Driver door lock switch • Front passenger door lock switch • Door lock actuators in each of the doors • Door lock system fuse into the BCM (BCM D 25A fuse) BCM Functions The body control module (BCM) is capable of accomplishing multiple body control functions. Components directly connected to the BCM are controlled by the BCM outputs. The BCM can control its outputs based on input information it obtains from sensors and switches that are directly connected to the BCM, or by receiving information from other vehicle systems connected to the class 2 serial data link. The BCM evaluates this information and controls certain body systems by commanding an output on or off. The BCM is also capable of commanding other vehicle systems to control functions that are not directly wired to and/or controlled by the BCM. The BCM accomplishes this task by sending specific messages on the class 2 serial data link. The vehicle system capable of performing such function will respond to the BCM message. Oh my, there is no reset. You would need to remove the pump module and check the gauge sender part, maybe the float arm got jostled or bent when installing. Sorry to tell you this, it will have to be redone. This time when you pull the unit out of the tank, take a moment to connect the battery, connect the electrical connector to the pump module, turn the key to on, then check that raising and lowering the float arm makes the gauge read right. It's either this way, or let it be and figure your gas left in tank by number of miles driven.

Ignition keys with the hard rubber on the finger end may have a chip in it and it has to be programmed for your ignition. It may be that your master control module needs this special signal to start your vehicle.

You need a live data scanner to look at this when the problem occurs in real time, I could guess but that would waste your money and my time.

The fasten safety belt warning sounds and the fasten safety belt indicator illuminates when the following occurs: • The ignition switch transitions to ON. • The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) detects that the driver's seat belt is not buckled, signal is low. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the SDM indicating the driver's seat belt status. If the seat belt is buckled when the ignition is turned on, the chime does not sound. If the seat belt is buckled while the chime is sounding, the chime stops. If the seat belt is unbuckled after the initial transition to ON, the chime does not sound. Headlamps On Warning The radio activates the headlamps on warning as requested by the body control module (BCM). The BCM sends a class 2 message to the radio indicating the chime frequency, fast rate and duration, continuous. The headlamps on warning sounds when the following occurs: • The ignition is OFF. • The BCM determines that the driver's door is open, signal is low. • The BCM determines that the headlamp switch is in the park or head position. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the radio indicating the chime frequency, medium rate and duration, continuous. The key-in-ignition warning sounds when the following occurs: • The ignition switch is OFF. • The body control module (BCM) determines that the driver's door is open, signal is low. • The BCM determines that the key-in-ignition switch is closed, signal is low. Turn Signal Reminder The radio activates the turn signal warning as requested by the IPC. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio indicating the chime frequency, medium rate and duration, continuous. The turn signal warning sounds when the following occurs: • The ignition switch is in the RUN position. • The turn signal switch is in either turn position, sensing, within 1 second, an open to B+ transition in the turn signal control circuit, left or right turn. • The vehicle has traveled a distance of 1.2 km (¾ mi) by counting pulses on the vehicle speed input circuit. The IPC turns OFF the turn signal reminder when either the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, or the turn signal switch returns to the OFF position, sensing, within 1 second, no transitions from open to B+ in either of the turn signal control circuits, left turn or right turn. Before replacing parts you don't need BCM which would need to be programmed ,dealer . Your still going to need to take it to the dealer for the radio . Radio Setup Important: The Radio Setup option does not contain a submenu. Radio Setup will configure the following systems: • Steering wheel controls • Learn VIN • DTCs • Class 2 radio messages The radio setup procedure will also clear the following messages: • CAL • CAL ERROR • CALIBRATE To setup a new radio for the vehicle, perform a VIN Relearn, located in the Special Functions section on the scan tool. Cycle the ignition when complete. If the radio is not properly setup, the radio will display a locked message (LOC) or Calibrate.

I would suggest a buick dealer !

Sorry but the mechanical part of the ignition switch is not part of the vehicles security system. Either something has been placed inside the key cylinder, you are using the wrong key or for some reason the lock cylinder lock pins have fallen inside the key cylinder. Please take a closer look at the cylinder. See if something is inside and can be picked out. Any questions. Please write back. Good Luck.
