You will have to call the dealer or search online for radio codes. You may have to remove the radio if you do it online to get reciever info. You may find the code on the back of the radio but usually not. Be prepared to pay for this info when you find it. If it was easy to get codes then they wouldnt be nessasary
When I turn the head
Couple of things. If your light switch in mounted on the column possibly the column itself and not so much the ignition switch (is located near the base of the colum) you will need to pull the panels off underneath the column that cover it. But I would check the headlight fuse first (are your interior lights coming on too?) if they are not check the fuse first. It they are and just no park.headlights you may have a short in the column if the headlight switch is forcing your ABS ind. to come on. Check the fuse first its the easiest the start to remove panels for other issues . If for some reason the ign. switch is bad it would be $20-$60 and is just a plug and play deal but doesnt control the headlights as they will come on wether the ign switch is on/off...
How can I test the starter solenoid on 1998 Volkswagen
The loud rapid clicking noise wounds like the solenoid is working. Your description sounds like not enough battery power.
Works like this: Enough power to fire the soleniod, but when the started in engauged, not enough power to run, voltage drops, solenoid disgngauges, then process starts again...
Try external power, like jumper cables...
In answer to yoru question, solenoids have typically, two smaller power connections, and two much larger connections...The big connections are battery in and out, and the smaller ones...: one is is the actuator, and one is ingintion resistor bypass. Ususally the small connector at the 2 oclock position is the actuator.
I suggest that you bench test this starter.
When I go to start my 98 cabrio the engine won't
Sounds like it could be the starter again. Most aftermarket starters, and alternators too, are rebuilt, and sometimes you get a bad one. You can check the other obvious stuff, battery cables, fuses, relays, etc., but most likely the starter is going.
How do you adjust the seats so that you don't feel
What a stupid question! If you are too short then put a pad under your ****. If you have an electric seat then use the controls to raise it up.
If you can't figure this out then you should not be driving.
