The three lines hanging under the truck connect to a valve on top of the 4x4 transfer case, this is why the 4wd does not work. As for the throttle body lines there should be a diagram on the radiator support that explains that. You should have one large line that goes to the PCV valve, a small line going to the air cleaner, a small line connected to the MAP sensor and possibly another connected to a valve that controls the EGR valve. Your fifth line should connect to a port on the manifold that supplies vacuum to a tank that is the vacuum source for the HVAC control doors and the front axle engagement system. The axle engagement system is what the line hanging by the transmission under the truck is for.

Idle set is at the side of carb on linkage. it is mechanical adjust....mixture is not mechanical but directly changes the mix of fuel to air.

Did you get the alternator wet? Have somebody measure the voltage in the alternator, just to get that out of the way.

Try removing one bulb or the other at one time preventing power completing the circuit if the problem in a light. Those ones are tuff to find but second place I would start is removing front door cils and cleaning out and playing with wires in there to see if you can find a problem, also wires in the boot between door and frame, usually drivers side cause it's used more often.

Take out the #1 spark plug and turn the engine by hand until you feel compression building when your thumb is over the spark plug hole. Now continue turning the engine slowly while watching for the timing mark on the dynamic balancer line up with the TDC mark on the timing indicator. Position the distributor so that the rotor is pointing to the #1 plug wire position on the rotor cap. When you mesh it with the cam gear, it will move past the #1 position. Take it back out and move the rotor to compensate for the distance it moves when the distributor is fully seated. Install the base clamp and bolt but don't tighten the bolt yet. Make the engine ready to run. Hook up a timing light and start the engine and set the timing by rotating the distributor until the timing marks are correct, then tighten the clamp bolt.

As long as they are both 4 wheel drive.

Many things can be the cause for high emissions. Dirty air filter, vacuum leaks, timing set wrong, wrong rpm, bad o2 sensor, defective egr, back cat. converter,sensors out of range ect. ect. It's highly unlikely anyone can guess and really help you. My best advice is find a good mechanic that deals in emission related diagnostics and have it professionally done. Will most likely be a lot cheaper than replacing a lot of parts that won't fix it.

you will have to check for any vacuum leaks and check the EGR valve. if it stuck open due to dirt/carbon or just a sticky shaft it will cause a vacuum leak.

Check out the spark at the plugs, I think you will find the ignition coil or condenser has become heat affected and will have to be replaced.

the connections should be rechecked at the ignition switch or other--tell the tech who didit--may also hav a fuse issue--its a really complex area and the cruise may effectit

I thought an s10 had a slave cylinder ? if so you need to check the fluid near your brake cylinder for your hydraulic clutch and you will have to bleed the air out of it down near the clutch also.. Jerry
