Toggle switch attached to battery or starter

first of all i need to know if the vehicle will start without the toggle switch? if it does then you can just remove it if the vehicle will not start without turning the switch on you should know that the initial power is from this switch so mostly you have problem in the ignition switch and you have to repair or replace the ignition switch before yo disengage the toggle switch.

My truck is idleing very high and is sluggish.

Try replacing your spark-plugs/wires, cap/rotor, air-filter. Spray some WD-40 on the throttle-body recoil spring.Get a can of carburettor/throttle-body cleaner and spray the inside of the throttle-body.

I got a 1987 chevy s10 pick up truck 2 wheel drive

Just about all you can do is, with the engine off, from under the hood open the throttle all the way and check if the TV cable is tight. And check the fluid level, smell if its burnt or look if its brown.

Other causes could be,
Sticky governor
Sticking shift valve
Worn bands

Many years ago my mom's first 4 speed automatic was a 84 S10 2.8 2wd. She did not know it was a 4 speed and the indicator was broke so she counted the clicks to find drive. She was driving in the hills in over drive and all the downshifting was too much for it (should have driven in hills in 3rd gear). After that the transmission would not shift out of second gear.

1987 chevy s10 2.5l tbi will not start. changed

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

I need to change the fuel pump on my 1987

othe fuel filter is on the driver side behind or slightly infront of the rear wheel on the frame, looks like a silver can, only a tid smaller. There is another filter that is in-tank affized to the bottom of your fuel sending unit. Its a pain to do but there is worse. Why do you feel you need to change the fuel pump?

My 87 blazer died, changed fuel pump, rebuilt tbi.

Before you start self repairing, you really should by a manual with proper diagrams to prevent heading in wrong directions.
The PCM doesnt control injector POWER. It controls injector GROUND. The POWER comes from the ignition switch and goes thru a fuse in teh fusebox probably marked ECM1 or ECMa. If you have power at both sides of that fuse with the ignition key in the ON position, then you have a broken wire between the fuse and the TBI. If you have no power to that fuse, you may have a broken wire, blown fuse, or defective ignition switch.

I would like to know where and what does the fuel

Will be a single wire, under the hood, on driver side, by fire wall, could be green or red, will have a female connector at the end, that's where you add voltage to test fuel pump.
