about the only thing that will gain ya any fuel mileage is the cold air intake, as for how much ck the mfg package they ought to know how much , the other two ideas won't do ya no good just move the load from fan belt to alternator thats run from same belt , unless your planning to line your roof line in aerodynamic shape solar panels to run them, Now that might work ,but nevers been done that i know of so i have no data on mileage gain for that one
No reverse till truck warms up
I am assuming the oil and filter is OK and that leaves just the pump. Check and see if the transmission has two pumps and if the oil for reverse is picked up by the drive gears is the same that picks up fluid for the reverse. If not that then it could be a solenoid or something sticking in the valve body. If the same pump picks up fluid for both then look for a solenoid that controls reverse. It could be on the outside and easy to replace. If you go to a local auto parts store they can look it up and probably tell you for sure what the problem is. Auto Zone is very helpful in these matters.
My cat problem
While welding, was the battery disconnected. If not , you may have damaged the computer.

I would be looking at the front passenger side oxygen sensor for issues. It may be bad, it may not be plugged in, bad wiring at harness.
The random misfire may be symptomatic of the o2 sensor problem.
