Engine stalls when wheels turned

you have a bad power steering pressure sensor, seending you some info on it,The switch's function is to signal the PCM when the power-steering system exceeds its normal operating hydraulic pressure, like when you cut the steering wheel all the way to one side and hear that hissing sound from the pump. The PCM then raises the idle speed and/or disengages the air-conditioning compressor to prevent the engine from stalling.

Why does my transmission only engage sometimes on 98 venture

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

1998 chevy venture won`t start. cranks over pops and backfires, was running great till it shut off when I was driving it. obd says no codes found

unplug the MAF sensor and see if that helps.I assume you have spark since it is backfiring. Will it start if you use a little carb spray in the throttle body?If it does than you have a fuel issue. Check fuel pressure. You should see more than 35 psi roughly. If there is no fuel pressure than check for power to the pump (the larger of the two grey wires at the pump). If there is power than the fuel pump would be the first thing I suspected. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

98 Chevy Venture front windshield wipers

I found problem to be that corrosion sets in between the CAMS plates that circle in an opposing fashion and does not let the wiper arms park correctly. Be very careful with this mechanism if you have the cowling off TURN the KEY and WIPERS OFF and watch your fingers so you don't get them caught. WARNING if you leave the power on and try to move the arms This cam mechanism springs to life and will try to self park the wipers on their own so Turn the Power and Wipers Off. SOLUTION: 1. With the ENGINE COLD, Spray a lubricant that FREE'S CORRODED PARTS like WD-40 between the gap of the 2 CAM Plates and on Top of the plates, or use some other automotive parts lubricant that free's corroded parts(let it soak for 5 minutes). 2. Gently Try to manually move the arms back and forth a little bit so that the spray works into the parts. 3. This may not be necessary but I had to do this the first time. There is a notch in the top cam that has a STUD that locks the 2 CAMs together. You can push on this STUD to unlock the cams by manually moving the wipers(use a screw driver to push on the STUD and have a friend gently move the wipers manually. Spray the area LIBERALLY with with the Lubricant Spray and see if you can move the CAMS back and forth and work the lubricant in. Then with the wiper cover out of the way and all tools clear Try to cycle the wipers HIGH and LOW, ON and OFF a few times it may stick the first couple times with the wipers in the up position but I am confident that the lubricant will work its way in and free these CAMS the way they are supposed to. Your wipers should self park after cycling them after 5-10times. This should solve most of the problems with these wipers and should be relubricated as needed. Clean up any extra lubricant Put the wiper cover back on.

1998 Chevy Venture, had shade

Yes if that plug he left in was bad or worse yet, if that plug that wasn't changed is actually missing. You need to check that all the plugs are actually installed first and also that the Spark plug wires are actually seated on each plug completely. Unfortunately a lot of "Shadetree" mechanics make the mistake of pulling on the wire itself to get them free and as a result damage the wires causing this problem. Another possibility is he has the coil wire loose or damaged or the firing order mixed up. The firing order is usually stamped on the intake manifold near where the air intake or carb are mounted to the manifold. The Distributor cap should have a mark indicating the number 1 position and the rest follow in clockwise fashion. The problem is this is the time frame that Chevy was switching between Distributors and Coil packs which are commonly square and a little more difficult to identify the actual position on. If you suspect the firing order and want to be sure beyond a doubt about what it is and which is which on a Coil pack I recommend you get a Haynes or Chilton's manual on your vehicle from Auto Zone or Advance Auto parts store, other Auto parts stores carry them as well anywhere from $12 to $20 dollars depending on your area.
