Where is the vacuum modulator located on the 1993 Buick Regal
If it has one
You open the hood & look on top of the
transaxle-- just to the right, of center, of the hood
opening
It will be on top & to the left of the transaxle end cover
& have a tube & small short hose going to it.
Under the hood or on the radiator cross support, should
be a vacuum diagram as well
I have a 1993 buick regal that has a coolant leak.
Good morning, go to the nearest car wash and dry your car engine with air, then park it and put carton below it, then check the lower hose first where it has the clip, if its ok then take off the radiator and let them pressure it, if nothing let me know, have a nice day
Engine stall at speed
Again, check THE WIRES going to the crank sensor, they run under the engine and cook themselves together.
1993 speedometer
Its probably the wires that go to the speed control, on top the transaxle, by the firewall, passenger side. The two wires run under the motor and get tortured with heat and oil and will short out. Check the connections also , they will corrode and lose connection.
When driving at 70-75 mph car starts to cut out and then dies
is it 3.1 or 3.8? A common problem with these motors is the two wires that run from under the coil packs, under the engine, and to the crank sensor on the rear of the block, next to the firewall, driver side. They cook themselves under the motor, and start intermittently shorting out, at speed, and will get worse and worse. The speed control wire will do the same thing, but the speedometer will quit working, and it will go into limp mode.
Can't find coolant leak
Any evidence of coolant in the oil? The oil will have a milky brown appearance on the oil dipstick.
If the engine is a 3.1L, the intake manifold gaskets are a well known problem. Aftermarket gaskets are a better fit-not so prone to failure. There would be driveability issues -rough running, poor idle, etc.-if the gaskets are bad.
How much coolant are you losing? Any problems with overheating?
Buick regal won't start
It could be a lot of things. Do you know for certain it has fuel in it? Have you checked to see if it has spark? Have you tried using starter fluid? If it tries to run on starter fluid, then you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't try to run on starter fluid, it is likely a spark issue. It is not uncommon for the ignition control module to fail on these cars. If you can remove it, Auto Zone and other retailers can test it for free.
