Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. Sounds like it slipped out of adjustment. When pedal is depressed, the button on switch will extend and be on to pass current to the bulbs. Also, you need to figure out the tail lights: those two filament bulbs are for park lights and for brakes/turn signals. One filament is for the parks, the other filament is for both brake and turn signals. American cars have the brake lights wired through the turn signal switch- from the brake light switch on the brake pedal to the turn switch, and then out to the rear bulbs for brakes and, or turn signals.

THM700-R4/4L60/MD8 (4 speed is stock) TH400 is 3speed not 4. ,now called 3L80 and ended in 1979 , but is really 1989 1971-1994 3L80HD (heavy duty version of TH400)<< yes i just looked in the service manual it shows this box THM 700R4 transmission. or TH400/3L80HD and shows Throttle Valve (TV) or Detent Cable one must not lose vacuum to the modulator of the transmission see 100% engine overload, and wants to use lower gears, so the vacuum must be there and MOD is color coded, and must not be ignored, it must match the weight of the car or it will not shift correctly. Do not use the wrong MOD ever. this is not a 4L80E/3L80E box no electric shifts. yes TCC lockup. sure. TCC relay is ECM controlled. clutch main TC lockup. acts like gear 3.5. A tuneup does not effect THM turbo hydra matic. box. unless huge engine power loss subsequent vacuum now wrong. the box shift, itself. only mod and TV cable and full engine power,changes it and for sure the GOVERNOR.

The generic info for problems at higher rpms, check for a blockage of some kind, fuel--air--exhaust. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? It's not a tranny issue, correct?

Pinion gear needs to be adjusted OR bad bearings. Was this a USED unit? Check YouTube for a video titled "How to set up a pinion gear in a differential".

Are you lacking spark or fuel ?

Its either Stuck on the alinement pins, or remove starter,,,,, also there are a couple of the bolts that have nuts holding on wires,,,remove the nuts and the bolts the nuts were on,,, with deep well socket,,,,,, there are also 3 torque converter bolts holding it to the flywheel that need to be unbolted,,, hope this helps

Yes you will need the computer and driveline harness make it work or you can get a painless wiring harness and eliminate the time it will take you to adapt the factory harnesses together

The old style gear indicator moved on the sleeve of the gear selector that is on the column. Therer is a cable that is connected and run through two pulleys and then the indicator attaches.

It all depends on what kind of headlights. Most the relay is slowly going bad.

You seem to have a very bad vacuum leak. Look at all your rubber hoses under hood , for cracked, loose , broken or missing hoses. You may even here them hissing. Replace any that you find. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

• u may have to remove the stater to get to the torque converter bolts some times u can spend the fly wheel from there also

If it is the front tire and the lug nuts are tight, you may have loose wheel bearings and will need to see if they need to be repacked.

Always use stock type plugs,that what there called for,some vehicles like yours don't run good on other types.They come set at factory,I always check gap and they are always right.As they say,it ain't broke don't fix it.

The injector ground circuit must not be working. What causes the pulse is when the computer internally grounds the injector circuit, power is passed across the injector solenoid terminals. All the injector grounds are spliced together on each bank of engine, and run into the computer. So, injector power, but no pulsing would seem a computer malfunction as long as the ground wires are good. Did you check all the injectors for pulse with the noid light, or at least both sides of engine?
