Replace the netral safety switch

Have you tested the throttle position sensor on the throttle body ?

Should be in rear right of vehicle underneath (most likely filler tube side)(mayor not be but any way) right behind / beside gas tank,&above crossmember bar there kinda by rear right tire.. hope u find it

My info on your model year isn't the best. Are your actuators cable operated or vacuum operated? I'd have to get up under your dash to get at that actuator. Also, look at the hvac housing, under the hood, can you see any actuator hook-ups? Sorry, I don't have better info. I did find an exploded view, vacuum operated, for 1990, don't know if 89 is the same?

Check the voltage at the back of the alternator and ground. Should be 14.5 volts. If not replace the new bad alternator you bought. If you ave it, check the voltage at the battery and ground. If it is low, replace the cable from the alternator to the battery. If you have 14,5 volts at the battery, replace the battery.

with a test light check at small wire (alt) if current ignition key on.if yes then alternator defect. if not check fuses ,warning light and the green wire. hope it helps

chances are your wire harness came off of it... ice and snow hanging on it maybe?wiggle the connection and see if that helps first.

Buy the replacement part first and whatever tool size fits is going to be apparent.The oil pressure.temp. sensor looks like a spark plug (kind of) . one wrench... whatever size...DO NOT overtighten the replacement... it is a tapered threaded sensor ... and will damage the block if overtightened.
