Have you checked the computer for trouble codes yet ?

Well, the computer is supposed to open the IAC to keep the RPM above 600 or so depending on the load on the engine.If you have voltage and ground for the IAC it should raise idle speed to at least 1100 when you first start the engine cold.If that is not happening, I would look for carbon build up in the throttle body. You can apply voltage to the IAC and open it to see if the air passage is open too.

thats normal, you should have a little movement the noise is the axle hitting the lock pin in the diff. hope this helps

you have eather a really slow head gasket leak or a crack between cylanders

Spray the intake with carb cleaner to find the vacuum leak. Check where the EGR mounts and the throttle body gasket sense you had both off.

u didn't say what engine, but check out this site, I believe it will be very helpful as to what u are looking for-
go to 'autozone.com select year make, engine, etc, click on 'repair manual' then driveability and emissions control, then to 'vacuum', they have a bunch of diagrams that will keep u busy. If u have any trouble finding it, let me know.

I have the same problem with my 85 ranger you can be going 5 mph and it will sometimes go to peged I have replaced everything in the system the cable the tranmission gear and the speed sensor and it still dose it usely in cold weather although your gear maybe cracked the one that gose into the transmission its like 2 dollars this helped mine for a for a couple of years but i think the main problem is inside the speedometer it self

Tensioner pulleys are designed to be 'Self Adjusting'. These pulleys are on spring loaded arms so they automatically push against the belt keeping it tight. You use a socket or a spanner to swing the pulley arm back against this spring. *Note* This is a powerful spring so BE CAREFUL when your working on it! A lot of these tensioners have two small holes to help with installing a belt. When you swing the tensioner arm back these two holes line up with each other. You can then slide a hex key, or something similar, through both holes and it holds the arm back giving you space to get the belt on. *Caution* When your ready to release the tensioner DO NOT just pull the hex key out!! With the socket or spanner you used to swing the tensioner arm back push the arm against the spring again, carefully pull the allen key out then Carefully release the pressure on the spring so the pulley sits correctly and tensions the belt.

check the abs system for relay and electrical problems the clicking can be from a cycling relay and the head lights flickering from the power draw for the abs away from the head lights.
