The neutral safety switch is an electronic switch in the center console where the shifter is located (for automatic transmissions). There's some screws holding the top plate of the shifter housing. Once you remove the cover plate to the shifter mechanism, you'll see the neutral safety switch (and reverse lights switch) is attached to shifter mechanism. There should be a single row black connector (6 or 7 pins) attached to it.

It's probably time to pull the starter off and have it tested. I think places like autozone or advance will check it free. Before you do that, make sure all connections are clean and tight.

try tightening the bolts that hold the carb to the engine; very common vacuum leak location.

They make small lock picks with little hook on the end you can pull the broken key out with .I have seen them on ebay pretty cheap.

it sounds like the starter is sticking or possibly the ignition switch may be bad has the switch lost it's return spring? does it release from crank mode or is the starter staying engaged if the starter stays engaged it may need shimmed or replaced be careful of your electrical connections

If you can't unlock it with a key or from the inside, you'll have to remove the door panel to get access to the latch.

What I remember is a black plastic part in the side of the switch that the lever snaps into. You may need to get a new switch.You can look at one in a parts store to see if yours is missing anything.

Hi Num, Have the vehicle scanned and diagnosed and have the fuel pump pressure tested. I believe you will find it too low. There may be a problem with the crank or camshaft pick up sensors. Regards John

If the leak is coming from the top you could have a damaged gasket for the fuel gauge sending unit. If it looks like a seam or a puncture, you need a new tank.
