Speedometer quit on 2005 silverado but the

The Chevy instrument panels had problems with the gauges functioning. Mine says I am always doing 120mph, for the past 80,000 miles. See your dealer for a replacement. It wasn't recalled, but there was a class action suit for some of the production years which might cover replacement.

There is an issues that prompt the ECM to put the "reduced engine power" mode to activate. Your going to have to get the DTC code to addressed the issue so the ECM will deactivate the "reduced engine power" mode.
Thank you for using Fixya and Auto Zone can scan free of charge and give you the recommendation to address the issue and as why your engine is in the reduced power mode. Good luck

2005 Duramax with Allison. Torque Converter stays

there is a solenoid that turns it on and off, it (the lock up part) works by pressure. There is not a magic switch or valve that will turn it off. Most of the time a new torque converter is the only fix, but not always. Allison is a different bird than the GM trans. GM let us fix that at the dealer Allison would have us pull it and replace it.

Starting my diesel

Unless it is specified in your owners manual, you will not have an indicator. The "electronically" system will not let the engine crank over until the glow plugs have reached the correct temperature. The glow plug systems on toady's diesels are very quick and do not hesitate very long.
Hope this helps.

The control for ac /heater stoped working but all power is there

Most cars have a resistor pack which controls he speed for the heater blower. I would suggest locating this first and ensuring you have voltage at the terminals. On some cars, this is part of the blower motor itself.
