I have a 2004 Silverado Crew Cab, the temperature

I think you will find that the mechanical control which changes the air flow from cold-hot-aircon has come off. I'm not familiar with your particular vehicle but usually the dash lever control is connected to a wire or lever to each air duct. If one of these is not connected then the duct will stay in the position where it was at when the control wire. lever came off. A good place to start.

04 silverado will not crank

Could be security. Does the light stay on and/or flashing? Turn the key to run, let sit for ten minutes, turn off for 30 seconds, try to start. This is reset. If you need relearn, do the 10 minutes and 30 seconds 3 times then try to start. Throw a charger on it because if the lights come on it will drain the battery. Any interruption, ad you have to start over. It could be a starter, wiring, or a bad neutral safety switch.

2004 chevy silverado speedometer repair

I have researched this problem, I own a 2000, 1500 4x4 Silverado, My Speedometer bounces on occasion. They have had recalls for years on this, It could be the grounds, mostly on the drivers side " that's every ground", On some the 20amp radio fuse under the hood effects the cluster. GM was replacing them, but if it isn't the problem you are back at square one. Also the harness was faulty. I would check for recalls first. Hope this helps.

What do the knock sensors do?

The knock sensors "sense" noise at a certain frequency that indicates your engine is pre-igniting the fuel ("knocking"). When they sense that the engine is knocking, they send the main engine computer a signal, and the computer changes (reduces) the timing of the firing of the spark plugs until the knocking goes away. This action prevents the pistons from becoming damaged, and it makes the engine run smoother.
