I need a new battery for my 2002 cavalier.
You should check your old one and try to match all categories The thing about batteries is the cca or cold cranking amps .But it is always best to match the one from the factory and when you buy a new one take the old one with you there is usually a core charge if you dont,Also if you take it in they can match it up for you

I blew the head gasket on my 2002 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 L OHV. I am needing to know the torque specs so that I can have the gasket replaced tomorrow! A picture would be wonderful! Uncle is going to fix it but he has not worked on a car for a little while so he is not sure with it being a newer car.
When torquing items today very little is done with just "numbers" in the process. Now you have to have an angle meter to complete the process so when you see me say to torque a specific number "plus so many degrees", this is how it's done. This is the meter:
Now, Here are the specs for installing the head:
Cylinder Head Bolt
30 N·m
22 lb ft
155 degrees
Here is the sequence shown in picture form:
Also, you will need to discard the old bolts because they are "torque to yeild" bolts and CANNOT be reused. The reason: "Torque to yeild" bolts actually stretch during the torque process and once they've gone through this process they can't be reused because they no longer are able to "clamp" the head because they are too long. Hope this helps your repair project.

how do you use cruise control?
Should be a operater manual with car, if not, the left side of steering wheel is a small handle. On the end is a button. In the middle is a "resume" switch that is pussed with your thumb. While driving push the end button, the car should engage and power without your foot on the peddle. To go faster push the middle switch with your thumb toward steering wheel and that will increase the speed. When you put on the brake the cruise control should dis-engage. Need to practice with this on a safe road. You may need to go at least 40mph for it to operate. When the cruise is engaged a dash light should come on saying "cruise" - Good luck

2002 chevy cavalier gauges not working - battery was jumped after leaving lights on- gauges quit working after
Start the car. remove the cluster fuse from the fuse panel to the left of the dash. Wait 5 seconds and reinsert the fuse. It should be fine until you replace the battery again.
