on the end of the splines in a groove of the shaft there should be a round "c" clip ( like a round piece of spring wire ) that is used to retain the shaft in the diff
it compresses into the groove when removing or installing
make sure that the shaft is the correct length for that side and get the clip from a drive shaft shop / service center
I have a 2002 chevy
yes its replacable, they just tell you it isnt so you buy the new 200$ guage. There was actually a recall on the cavi's for this problem. You can unsolder the old bulb and solder a new one in
Getting Code p0113 which causes the car to hesitate and also shift hard. 2.2L ecotec motor.
I would check a sensor called the mass air flow sensor its located in the intake stream before the air gets to the intake air temperature .
Its baslcly the first sensor the computer use's to control the vehicle .
It is expensive how ever some times it can be cleaned you can by mass air flow sensor cleaner for about 10 bucks dosn't always work but if it is bad t5heir is a huge recore for it like 80 ti 100 dollars so don't through it away.
Trac off light comes on
Youll need to scan for transmission codes. the trac off light is a default of the trans going into a default safety mode. Bad speed sensors and simple little bolt on items like that can cause this problem.--------
But as you mentioned in your question that " When we shut it off & then re-start it, it works fine." this indicates that computer gets reset when you turn car on off. so there is error code stored, but its getting reset.Get the car scanned at autozone service center or at local car garage and retrieve the error codes, that will point towards the cause of the problem.-------
Mostly its ABS wheel sensors causing the problem.-----------
Also other possibility for this trac light coming on and car hard shifting is problem with iat sensor or problem with tps sensor.-------
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor determines the air temperature inside the intake manifold. Resistance changes in response to the ambient air temperature. The sensor has a negative temperature coefficient. As the temperature of the sensor rises the resistance across the sensor decreases. This provides a signal to the PCM indicating the temperature of the incoming air charge. This sensor helps the PCM to determine spark timing and air/fuel ratio. Information from this sensor is added to the pressure sensor information to calculate the air mass being sent to the cylinders. The IAT is a two wire sensor, a 5-volt reference signal is sent to the sensor and the signal return is based upon the change in the measured resistance due to temperature. The IAT sensor is located in the air cleaner outlet tube.---------
The throttle position sensor, also called the TP sensor, helps to regulate the throttle position on a car's engine. A faulty TP sensor can cause an illuminated check engine light in your Cavalier, as well as cause the engine to run inefficiently. Replacing the TP sensor is simple, quick and inexpensive.
Locate the throttle position sensor. The sensor is attached to the rear of the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connection from the sensor.
Pull the throttle position sensor off; you may have to wiggle it back and forth to remove it.-------
----------------------
So first get car scanned at car diagnosis center, and get error code. The error code will exactly point, which part is causing the problem. But if in case no error code is retrieved, then this possible parts mentioned needs to be tested and faulty one will have to be replaced.-----------
This will help, thanks.Helpmech.
