2000 Chevrolet Silverado Oxygen Sensor (O2S)where

It's inline in the exhaust system. You'll see one on each bank of the engine before the catalytic converter and one or two behind the converter. It's fairly easy to change, get your hands on an O2 sensor socket and get an OEM GM replacement sensor, don't cheap out or you'll be asking for trouble.

2000 chevy silverado step side turn lights speeds up when you apply the brakes

It's a really simple fix. Just take the plastic of around the column and the will be an orange and a white wire that runs to the button on the shifter. One of those wires are probably broken. Very common problem on these trucks. You can solder and heat shrink it or use a butconnector. Doesn't take too long at all. Hope this helps. It's how I've fixed the last five anyway. I actually added some extra wire and rerouted it in the column plastic. The tilt wheel seems to cut it so it's just bad location on GM trucks behalf

2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 4.3. The #2 spark plug keeps firing out. I pull the plug and find it soaked with gas?

This is often a sign the plug isn't firing correctly. Is the engine running rough at idle and under power? Using insulated grips, with the plug out and fitted into the plug wire, hold it against the engine block. Get a helper to crank the engine for NO MORE THAN 3 seconds. Look for a strong blue spark firing evenly. If there is no spark or it is weak replace ALL the plugs with new ones and recheck #2 after running the engine.

Hows do I fix the high surging idle on my 2000 chevy silverado?

I know this sounds nuts but I just did this to my Granddaughters truck and it works. Turn the key off open the door for 90 seconds close the door turn the key on but do not start the truck, press the gas pedal to the floor three times and shut the key off and wait 10 or 15 seconds and start the truck. This will reset the idle air control and should let the truck idle ok.

My rear brakes are getting way too hot on my 2000

This year of truck did have issues with rear disc brakes. Quality of pads is extremely critical. Go with the AC Delco pads and rotors to eleviate some of the issue. Make sure that the slide pins are liberally lubricated and move freely or drag will cause excessive heat to occur. Let me know if you need anything else.

Rear end clunk in Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup

The noise is caused by the axle button being worn out, this lets the axle move back and forth and clunk, this is a unique problem with C clip retained axles, it is a noise issue but will not fail and cause any more damage, in order to fix it you must have the axles pulled and the diff carrier checked for excess wear where the axle retainning C clip rides, if the carrier is ok then replace the axles.

Got a PO449 code on an 09 Colorado. AutoZone gave

There are two vent/purge valves - one on the engine that takes vapor from the gas tank and cycles it into the intake manifold. The other one is connected by a hose to the vapor canister. I don't know which one you bought, but it can't hurt to replace both - the one that fails most often is the one connected to the canister and is usually mounted under the vehicle at the back. It often fails due to road contamination getting into the solenoid.
