I have 2004 Venture, When I start to run the Car,I can hear gear going to one then second and then third but after that It doesn't go higher and by pushing the pedal just moving with third gear and It doesn't shift higher,Even in high way seems I'm driving with third Gear about 100 km and transmission start to make unusual nose.Need some advise.
Bring to tranny shop or repair shop, have it scanned for trouble codes, many electrical parts and solonoids in those trannys, possible it may just be a shift solonoid bad or needs adjustment, much cheaper than replacing tranny. good luck!

On smooth road, the van will sometimes vibrate at around 40 to 45mph. I have recently replaced the tires with no effect on the vibration. I returned to the tire shop, they rechecked the tire balance (was good) and checked the alignment (was found to be in spec). I suspect that Torque Converter Clutch engagement is contributing to the problem, but the vibration will not disappear completely when going down a slight grade with foot off the gas pedal (which should release the Torque Converter Clutch) and trans shifted to Neutral. Any ideas would be appreciated.
first, if the milage is high it could be a cv halfshaft even if the boots are not split. if the tires are new and no rims are bent, make sure there is no fix -a- flat in the tires, (liquid will not balance) and cause a severe vibration. i would suggest you take it back to your shop and have them put it on a lift, raise up the front wheels under the outer part of the lower control arm where the front is not hanging down too far and start the vehicle. run it up to 45mph to 60mph and have them feel in the drivetrain for vibrations and shakes.if it is felt with the car this way the vibration is in the drivtrain. inner cv's or in the transmission. thanks and let me know what you find out.

Chevy Venture cigarette lighter does not work. Could not find any fuse for accessories or lighter. Any ideas?
it's on the passenger side fuse panel - 2nd or 3rd row over - 20A mini-fuse. There is a label on the panel cover.

want to change the battery on a chevy 2004 venture by myself
be prepared to spend on hour or two (I know it sounds excessive, but with the venture, it's necessary). Make sure you've got a full set of sockets ready. The battery, as you know, is in the front left corner of the engine compartment. You need to make sure the van is COLD (as in, has not been running for at least 6-8 hours), as you have to move the coolant resevoir out of the way (it is held onto the diaginal cross brace with a slip on bracket). then you need to remove the bracket itself. Once you get there, then the battery is finally accessable. Using a long socket extension, you can remove the clip for the battery (on the rear of the battery if memory serves), then remove the wires, and take the battery out. Installation is the reverse of removal (obviously) :)
BEFORE removing the battery, however, if you have a Delco radio (the factory radio) make sure you get the lock code, otherwise, you'll spend big $$ at the dealership to have them find it for you. (or get a new aftermarket radio) Check out the owners manual to find out how to get this code.

i have a 55 maxus ldv van. i have problems starting it most mornings, have had it jump started on boyh occassions and it will run all day, but next morning i have same problem, there seems to be power in the battery as it always turns over but just does not start and the battery ends up drained.
sounds like it could be the pressure control valve on the fuel pump not an expensive repair. the pressure drops in the line over night. try priming the filter whilst the engine is being cranked. the control valve is held on by 3 torx screws on the end of the pump.

My 2004 chevy venture will not shift into gear. With not warning it just simply will not catch on anything this morning to go into gear
Had neighbor look at this same problem. Turned out the shifter cable linkage near the top of transmission had popped off. They popped it back on and works but a bushing in the clip probably needs replaced. The neighbor rewched over engined top between firewall and engine and popped it back on.
Works fine but does needs a clip/bushing part and auto parts store has to get from Chevy

2004 Chevy Venture ABS is activating while driving normally. Often, this follows hitting a bump in the road, or while slowing for a turn. Can I remove a fuse and deactivate teh ABS for the time being while I get the money gathered to fix this right?
Yes, of course you can deactivate the ABS system by removing the fuse no.# 44 - F44 (20 Amp. - yellow color) placed in the fuse box in passenger compartment. See pictures below:
