How to drain cooling system

First drain the radiator. Next leave the rad drain open and remove the heater core hose from the top of the rad by the filler cap. plug the hole in the rad where the heater hose was and use an air gun to inject air into the cooling system via the disconnected heater hose. Be sure to use short spurts so that you so not over pressure the system. This will drain the majority of the engine and the coolant will come out in a hurry. Hope this helps.

I have a 2004 GMC

U have a defective engine wiring harness, of that I have zero doubt, to get this fixed u will need a dealer to find the problem in the harness or connector, we are talking about allot of possible areas where the harness can be damaged, this is way beyond a home mechanic fixing, just to involved, i have fixed many trucks for this problem, never the same thing twice.

Sounds like you may have a bad injector, as the motor heats up, the injector's resistence increases to the point the injector stops operating.

Oil light stays on for over a minute after

No, not normal for that year of car. Are you using multivis oil? Are you operating at low temps? How many miles on the engine? Does it come on at stops or no? If yes, this is more normal after 150K miles. If you want the truck to last, you will need a new oil pump soon.

Does my 2004 chevy express van have a cutoff

General answer is: If there isn't a key hole on the dash to do so then the only way to turn it off is via removing the fuse.  You may be liable in an accident though and the vehicle wouldn't be able to pass an inspection so could be a fine.  I do it myself though - I'm on rough roads a lot and have bumped into trees playing and so usually remove the fuse or put a burnt one in it.
Hope this helps.
