Open door in order to fix latch

Of course you can call a guy to come and unlock it for you in which case would save you time and headaches...Or buy a slimjim to open it yourself. That can be a headache as well if you don't know how to use it and also pending where the latch is broken...It really depends where the latch is actually broken...This can be done from carefully removing front part of door interior ..If it has power windows it will be easier of course..,If it is a crank window you will need a window crank remover if it has an inside clip...Some have a screw behind a plastic cover at the crank but some won't have a screw...If it is broken at the lever normally you can reach carefully behind panel, grab the rod and pull it to you to open door....If you knew where it was broke....Trust me to save time and get a unlock door kit from parts store with directions or else get someone to come unlock it for 20 or 50 dollars.....Save a nightmare from happening...A slimjim is cheaper however you don't know where the actual problem is....Call a door locksmith.

Where is the inertia reset on a 04 cavalier

What seams to be the problem Jessica ? No fuel ? This vehicle has no inertia fuel cut off switch ! I 'm looking at a wiring diagram for this vehicle, there is a fuel pump relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . In the instrument fuse box is a fuse marked F/P-INJ. fuse 15amp.this supply's power to the fuel pump through the fuel pump relay. If you knew how to do it you check for power at the fuel pump relay ! What is going on with this car. It doesn't through a code. The RPM's will go up to 3 and back down to 1 and just kill the engine. It will start back up but once you put it into drive it want to kill.

May have a possible IAC (idle air control) problem or vacuum leak. It would really be helpful to have it connected to a scanner and verify the IAC operation and other data at the time of fault.

Why isn't the new starter on my 2004 Cavalier working properly?

It seems, more often than not, aftermarket starters just aren't built as well as factory. I've had the issue before that starters purchased from certain chains would not perform as well as other chains, and / or their starters were defective out of the box. Another problem could be that you may have forgotten to put the shims in place that the original starter had, which would cause issues too. It could also be that your starter wasn't the problem - a wire was ( and is ) the problem. First, feel the length of the battery cables. If either cable is lumpy under the covering, than that wire is corroded inside and needs to be replaced. Then check the wires from the solenoid ( small cylinder attached to the starter) for lumpiness. You didn't mention what the problem is, so I'm trying to cover all the bases here. knowing the exact problem would help me help you. If everything checks out ok, then you'll need to pull the starter out and have it bench tested for resistance, to see if it or the solenoid is defective. I don't want to slam any particular chain store here, so I won't say who I've had trouble with. Anyways, check these things out and, if everything checks out good but it still drags or barely starts, then you may have a problem with the ground strap, which is a flat, somewhat wide braided bare wire that connects the engine block to the chassis or body of the car. While checking wires, inspect the connectors for green or white deposits - these will stop the starter from working too!!
