Has the car been put on a diagnostic monitor to see what part of the signal is being lost? If not that must be done.

look for an intake leak, like a hose broken or dislodged.

Yes they unscrew should be a 5/16

a few things to check .. make sure all vacuum lines are on . next check the EGR valve its very bad at stalling at stop signs and quick stops .. and does it run good down the road ? thanks Jerry and holler if you have more ..

It normally will clear after so many starts , or you can take it to someone who has a OBD code checker and have the code cleared, Or , Unhook the neg battery cable for 10 minutes and that sometimes forces a reboot to the system, (but you lose your radio stations )

Any locksmith should be able to do this for you without the code. They can find the code from the original key with a meter.

you will need to call a lock smith if the broken bit is in the ignition as extractors are not easily purchased. The other thing is when you get the key out of the ignition take it to the dealership and get a new one from them as keys of this year usually have an anti-theft chip in them. Also the dealership can cut you a key from the key code which is in the VIN#.

Code 12 will always be the first code you get which simply meams that your computer and PROM (the memory chip in the computer) are working properly. If you did have a trouble code, how it works is the code 12 (1 and then2 flashes) would happen 3 times. Then after the code 12 any other codes would start. They would also flash 3 times and then move on to the next code and when all the codes were done there would be a longer pause then normal and code 12 would happen again 3 time and the cycle would start again. In other words if no other codes are coming up after the 12 (3 times) you're in good shape and your computer isn't detecting any malfunctions. I hope this helps.

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have a freon charge and check for leaks. It's just normal that you lose freon specially for a long period of use.

the 2 most common problem for this is # 1 crankshaft position sensor , will cause engine to lose fire.
# 2 fuel pump ,, no fuel pressure.

Check idle error control

sounds like a vaccume leak, like a dryrotted hose coming apart and the going back together

See the figures at the bottom of the page at this link. Figure 14 is for the 2.8L and 3.1L engines, which is probably what you have. Figure 15 is for the 3.4L engines.

I don't really see one other then a fuse but have given you a wring diagram from your iginition switch if that's what you are atlking about.
