What can cause a 71 Beetle to stall out? New Pic-3 carb with cdi ignition

WOW 1971 bettle.. There is a little solenoid on the left side of the carb. this is what allows fuel into the carb for idle. if it is loose which many of them are it will cause the car to stall at Idle. It can also be bad.. in which case if you pull the wire off of it with the key on and touch the wire to it.. it should click.. Opening the valve.. it should stay open anytime the key is in the on position.. Another thing to look for on this car is the coil is mounted upside down.. they leak oil when they get old and the wires can not get a good connection.. Check these wires and clean them take a pliers and compress the connector a little to tighten them up.. Another thing at the ends of the intake manifold is a rubber boot.. sometime that will deterate and cause a massive vacuum leak.. check those.. check to see that the carb mounting nuts are tight.. Check the fuel filter to make sure you did not get some bad gas and its clogged. Or possibly your tank could have rust in it and clog the filter.. Please post a comment and let me know what you find

My 1998 beetle won't start. I have replaced cam sensor and it still won't start. Any suggestions?

gas answers, not diesel. and USA only. cant do non USA> so did you check spark at every cylinder never just 1. the 1998 cars in USA all have OBD2 puters, ECU. all scanners scan 1998 here. all. and all will tell you cranking if any sensor is wrong, IT WILL crank for 5 seconds, all ECU report CMP or CKP failure. all. why not just look,. a scan tool is $9 off fleabay. or? car dont move, so.... id bet town charge is like 10x a tools. huh?
  1. battery charged?
  2. Compression good on all cyl.
  3. spark good all cylinders.
  4. fueling now>? injection too much , too light>
this order works, all others are dog chasing tail/ sure scan it is first. its what 5min work? the fuel can not burn if there is no spark the both fuel and spark are useless to no compression (physics)

Front defroster not working

Hi. The 2 most common causes of this is 1) lack of air flow due to the pollen filter being blocked; 2) the aircon has no gas, and is not drying the air properly.
