1988 pontiac trans am clutch is slipping
sounds like it needs a new clutch theres no way around it your letting out the clutch fully before it moves at high revs your clutch is burnt out it only works better when its hots because its expanded by the heat but when its cooled down it wont move again yep its a new one.
Problem keeping it started
Sometimes when you check a battery if you have wiggled it then it starts it could be as simple as a loose connection or dirty posts. On a very small amount of the time the wiggle could just liven the battery up long enough to get another start out of it (this will not work over and over again). From what you write this could be in need of a battery or alternator or just cleaning the battery posts. Without more info I can not say. Does it click and do nothing? Does it make a grrr noise that kinda tapers off to nothing (like it wants to start but just can't get there)? Do the headlights work and are they bright or do they seem weak? Post any info describing any noise it makes or doesn't make (if none) and I will help you more.
Battery drain in 3.3L motor
It would appear that steps need to be taken to determine the current draw . it can not unless there is a circuit for it to do so . Disconnect the earth strap from the battery and insert an amp meter in the circuit . IF there is a circuit for the current you will read that current and that will point to what unit is capable of using that current with out serious effect. Low current (up to 3amps ) indicates lights so check boot light still on-glove box light on- interior light on-head light module faulty etc.; Higher draw then look for ECM working when it should be off--sensors operating from shorts __HO2s sensor ABS unit operating. Starter motors I would discount because if the solenoid was operating the starter would be spinning the motor. Check that the audio systems are not operational with out making noise .Units I would be checking would be automatic units that draw through a relay and a check for this would be to watch the amp meter for a change as each power wire to the relay/s was removed and re installed . IF you find a relay that causes a variance I would replace that module and recheck the current draw.
Have 1988 tbi chevy 350 pulled the distributor out
Retime it. Put #1 cylinder at TDC of compression stroke. Pull number one spark plug: with finger over hole turn the crank with a socket and feel for the pressure buildup as engine turns. When you feel pressure, that means number one piston is rising on it's compression stroke. Now turn the crank on around until it is lining up the zero mark on the pointer scale. TDC of compression stroke. Now put the distributor in so that the rotor when installed is pointing to the number one spark plug tower. Distributor shaft will turn slightly as it is installed, so start with shaft and rotor turned a bit back, so when slides into position, rotor is pointing directly to #1 plug tower. Keep playing with it until you get it right.Good luck.
88 firebird doesn't get fuel, I replaced the fuel
I would check the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, there might be a centrifugal cut-off switch. No output from the crankshaft position sensor would probly cause that. When you turn the key on you should be able to hear the pump run for a couple seconds. If not, could be a short circuit, loose connection, that sorta thing.
1988 firebird formula 5.0 tpi car just died
It sounds like you may have burned out your fusable link. It's a special wire that comes off the starter solennoid and is designed to burn off in the event of an overload. DO NOT REPLACE IT WITH REGULAR WIRE, THIS IS A LEADING CAUSE OF CAR FIRES.
You will want to check for what caused the overload condition that caused the fusable link to burn out in the first place.
