How do you adjust head light buckets on a 1987 trans am
First you have to unplug the headlight motor, then you should see a turn knob up top next to your headlights. You might have to push the lights up or down as youre turning the knob but that should work. Thats how my 1983 is.

Probably not a fuse. When turning the key to on, does it give indication of power in and power out of the ignition switch-do the warning lights and gauges on the dash turn on?
If the key switch is sending power, next thing to check is the starter motor. You could take it off and have it tested, it and the starter solenoid mounted on the starter, or you could do some quick electrical testing yourself, if you have a test light or multi-meter.
If you pull off the small purple wire to the starter solenoid on the starter, you should check if the wire has power when the key is held in crank position. If it does have power, the starter or solenoid is faulty. If no power on the purple wire in start, then power is lost between the key switch and the solenoid. This part of the start circuit includes the neutral safety switch on the transmission (or the clutch switch if manual transmission), and a starter relay somewhere under the hood. Check the neutral safety switch for continuity in park or neutral. The start wire out of the ignition switch goes to this safety switch, and power is passed on to the starter if gear is in park or neutral.
Not likely the starter relay is bad, but you may need to find and check it, if all else fails.
One headlight will raise up
Are the black knobs beside the headlights for the motors spinning when light are on ? I have the same problem with mine, but both dont raise. Gears on the motors are stripped. I manually lifted them have them held up till I can replace.

If it is the antitheft, there will be a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see that light, then here is a link to help. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/When someone steals a stereo, if they rip it out and damage wires, you could have a short behind the dash. Common practice on old cars was to run a wire from the ignition to the stereo deck so that when the car turned off, so did the deck. This might be the case
