What does the pictures on the dashboard mean? for example i know when the oil is low because the oil sign shows up what does the other sign mean?

Read your owners manual it will tell exactly what they are. A low fluid slsymbol could be your winshield wiper tank is low on fluid or it could be your coolant level is low in your engine. Try filling the windshield fluid first if the light goes out, then there you go. Become aquainted with your owners manual.

Drivers information display doesn't work

I researched and finally found a fix for non functioning Driver Information Center. The solution was similar to that found for similar modules on other brands of vehicles. Remove the Driver Information Center Module (See GM manual for procedure) Push back clips from black housing box and carefully remove circuit board Place circuit card flat on table. Place display and component side of circuit board facing up Rotate circuit board so the display module side is facing you There are button switches on either side of the display module Look at the right button switch. Next to it just left and above are four 1/4" X 1/8" black components attached to the circuit board They are marked 430, 430, 820 and 820 reading from top to bottom. These are resistors with 43 and 82 ohm values. On the two modules I have repaired the problem was with the top most resistor. It is marked 430 and is 1/2" above and 1/4" to the left of the right button switch. The soldering to the circuit board had fractured. I resoldered the resistor into place using a bit of solder and 15 Watt pencil soldering iron. All fixed. The problem is NOT the black spot on the display in the upper left corner The problem is NOT the DC to DC converter modules.

What scan tool?

Sort of.You would need a scan tool such as a dealer would use, not a code reader like the auto parts stores have.

Service engine soon light codeP0141

Hi there:

This code means that the heated circuit in the oxygen sensor on bank 1 decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0141. See also: P0135 (Bank 1, Sensor 1).

A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • open or short to ground in the wiring harness
  • O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
  • O2 heater element resistance is high
  • Internal short or open in the heater element

Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.

Possible solutions:

  • Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)
  • Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Cant move shifter chev venture

You could disconnect the cable at the transaxle if you need to manually shift the trans, but you would need to disassemble the steering column to move the shift lever without unlocking the key cylinder.

My Venture starts for a second then dies, even if you continually give it gas it dies. any advice please

The fuel pump normally only runs for a few seconds when you turn the key on. It will usually turn on again when the engine is cranked over. Then when the oil pressure is safe it will continue to run. Sounds like your fuel pump could be getting weak. Was there a check engine light on before all this happened?

Where is the fuse for the remote power mirrors

They are probably protected by a relay/breaker. You will find it under the hood, in a plastic cover in the relay/breaker center. It will be labeled either next to the relay or on the inside of the cover. murf427

Fuel filter

Should be mounted under the van in front of the gas tank. You may need a special tool to release the clip and unlock the line to remove. The tool is available at the parts store where you buy the filter.Don't forget to release the fuel pressure before removing the filter.
