Basic instructions on how to replace drivers side
1. remove the triangle at the front of the window2. remove the trim around the inside door handle3. with the surround removed - pry the switch in the door up -it is connected with pressure seals- if u get a screw driver under it and push up- they will pop out as u go around the edge of it .leave the switches connected to the wiring since u have to put the window down in a little bit 4. remove the 2 screws in the door handle here they are starting to come out5. put the windows down about a half inch or so....this will get easier to get the door handle bolts6. using a door pannel tool disconnect the pannel from the door. you may break some of the pannel connectors so you may want to have a few replacements on hand for this 7. when the door pannel is loose enough to take off (don't remove it yet)- disconnect the wiring from the window/lock switches at this point8.disconnect the courtesy light from the pannel9. remove the plastic door pannel from the door and set it aside.

Check transmission fuse its the one labeled PRNDL or similar.Use a test light when you check it by the way.If the fuse is good then its probaly your ignition switch failed. If that fuse is bad or the ignition switch is not suppling power to that fuse your tack, speedo, and gear indicator wont work, and your transmission will go into a safe mode.Safe mode is just the transmission staying in 3rd gear all the time until you fix this.
Rear differential seal leaking on 97 chevy
Replace the rear pinion seal.Take driveshaft off on rear end side and let it hang beside you.You need a big socket now 1 1/8 or 1 1/4.They say to mark nut so you get it back on exactly the same but i dont. You will probaly need your impact to get that nut off and put on parking brake if havent already.Ok take off nut and pull out yoke then you will see the seal. Its a real pain to get that out.I just damage the seal with flat head screwdriver on one side making somewhat of a dent. The seal will come out after some work and prying on it.Be carefull not to damage anything else while you do this. You have to tap new seal back in with hammer. It might take a little while to get back in just keep tapping it not beating on it though.Put the rest back together how you took it off.

If your tack, odometer ,engine light is on and indicator light is not working then it could be the fuse for the ******.It could also be your ignition switch is not suppling power to that fuse.No power to that fuse or if its blown will cause truck to stay in 3rd gear which is like a safe mode for it.
I have a 1997 Chevy 1500 Silverado. The front
heres how i have done it. drain out the cooling system, drill a small hole in center of soft plug, put a wood screw or similar in the hole to pull the plug out. be careful not to knock it in the engine. clean around place where the plug goes. then put a good gasket sealant around where plug goes, then tap it in so it is even with block, but do not knock it in the engine. let sit for a while then refill system and check for leaks. auto-zone probably has a good sealant for the soft plug. good-day ! beveled side in engine.
