Transmission will work when cold but doesn't move
THE ONLY REASON IT MOVES WHEN COLD IS THE FLUID IS THICKER AND THAT GIVES THE CLUTCHES A LITTLE MORE GRIP IN THE CLUTCH DRUM OF THE TRANSMISSION, THE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS THAT THE TRANS HAS A INTERNAL HYDRAULIC PRESSURE LEAK THAT SEALS COLD, HAVE BEEN A DEALER TECH FOR 40 YEARS AND I KNOW YOU WILL HAVE TO TEAR THIS TRANS DOWN AND REBUILD IT FOR EITHER PROBLEM, THERE IS NO QUICK FIX FOR THIS ISSUE

TRUCK DIED WHILE DRIVING
If you felt a loss of power, you had to press on the gas harder before it died, you may want to check on the fuel filter. Otherwise you may want to check on the fast idle valve or pcv if it needs cleaning, or vacuum hoses if they have leaks which may be the cause of the rough idle if its an EFI engine.

My truck is dumping too much fuel it's TBI 2.5L
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Test the wires leading to the injectors. One would be +12 when IGN switch is turned ON/RUN, the other should be pulsating when engine is cranked/running. If this other wire is not pulsating and/or reading 0 volts, then the computer would need looking into. To perform the test, a test light or DVM/VOM would be needed. If this is the case, then initially check for any loose connection including the ground wire/strap in the computer harness/area.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

We got the timing corrected, now when you turn it
Try to jump start it with another car if it starts you will probably have to let it run for a while or connect a battery charger failing that the battery probably hasnt got enough amps to turn it over so it may require replacing! good luck

Where is the cap & Rotor on the 2.5L motor?
Start at your spark plugs follow them "the wires" (all of them) they should all be located at one central place. This is your cap sometimes they are black or brown or hope this helps

Accessory belt
if this pulley is not the a/c compressor, power steering pump, air pump, water pump altenator, then is is either a tensioner pulley or an idler pulley. the tensioner pulley is mounted on an arm that is spring loaded, the idler is stationary.

72 Pontiac GTO, been sitting for 8 years. I can't
You hit the nail on the head. Chances are the sending unit filter "sock" is clogged. Most of the time you can clear it by blowing compressed air back through the tank.
I would however, inspect the suction line from the fuel pump to the tank for rust obstruction and hoses for de-lamination.
Disconnect the line just before it goes into the tank and try to blow air through it just to make sure it is not rusted shut.
Good luck, let me know.
Regards,

Tail Light Malfunction
Try looking for the spot where all your wires come together, near the rear bumper. I was having the same issues until I found the problem today and fixed it. I found a loose ground to the frame the bolt holding multiple grounds was loose. I found it near the rear bumper. I tightened it up and everything started working correctly. Good luck, hope you can find the problem.
