Replacing a fuse and accidentally
There should be a fuse diagram in the owner's manual if you have one.
Usually you can disconnect the battery cable, negative side for about five minutes and reconnect to clear the check engine light, unless something is still causing it to reset.

It's a 98 model so you probly didn't get the "orgional" keys. Just what the last owner had. They didn't worry about locking it. Just getting it started.
When I dip my headlights
check your grounding points, you have a classic problem of having poor electrical ground to your components.
check the chassis and harness ground points in the engine bay as well as the big wire coming from your battery (negative post)

The negative cable is usually connected to the engine block.
The positive cable is usually connected to the starter solenoid.
There may be one or two smaller gauge positive cables connected to main power distribution boxes.
Overheats. runs fine when idiling.holding
Water pump. The impeller will slip on the shaft. As you said runs fine at idle, but when you run it harder the impeller doesn't spin fast enough (slips). Causing it to over heat. replaced to many for this problem. Also The pumps that have the metal impellers will be tight when cold, don't let this fool you. when they heat up they slip.

When you press on the shifter you are putting pressure on a bearing. That is most likely the problem. It is about as cheap to rebuild it as to find a used one. Not to many around. If you rebuild it, get the bearings, syncronizer and any gear that has teeth missing.
