Reset oil change milage

GM OIL LIFE SYSTEM - RESETTING
The engine oil life monitor will indicate when to change the engine oil - usually between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 16 000 km (10,000 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the "CHANGE OIL SOON" light may be displayed before 5 000 km (3,000 miles). The vehicle must not be driven more than 16 000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months without an oil change.

Reset the oil life monitor when the oil has been changed, use the following procedure:
  1. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
  2. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
  3. If the Change Oil Soon light flashes, the system is resetting.
  4. Start the vehicle.
  5. The oil life will change to 100%.
  6. If the Change Oil Soon light comes back on, the system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Speedometer jumped up 40 kms while I was driving

We had the same problem with '04 Chev Impala speedo. It's fairly common so I'm told. Mr Whizzard Technical Services does a great repair job for a very reasonable price. I believe it was about $179CDN plus cost to ship to him. Price included return freight. You can call toll free 1-888-803-8523. Google him for more info. While it does mean the vehicle is down for a while, but we were very pleased with the quick turn-around (about 10 days).

Have a cylinder number 6 misfire , motor light

Check that you are getting proper voltage to that injector. Unplug it while its running to see if there is any change in the hit. If it doesnt change, you have a bad injector.

My 2004 gmc crew

Maybe the actuators (electromagnetic) are going bad. I would try to replace that part first if there is intermittent or weak operation of power door locks.

I have a cold air leak on the passenger side of my

Some of these pickups would develop an air leak between the air inlet section of the HVAC box and the cowl or firewall area. This leak would allow cold air to seep into the cab [usually by the passengers feet] in the winter and hot air in the summer. The other rarer cause I've seen is the recirculation door actuator motor sometimes won't hold the recirculation door closed which can also cause a leak. Sorry but I don't have a procedure to fix either of these for you as the ones I saw were still under warranty and went back to the dealers. Hope this helps narrow it down and good luck!

Inside your automatic transmission is a cawl that engages a notched ring. If your transmission linkage has become bent for some reason, or the transmission has been moved (an accident, a damaged mount, etc.) then it might take some extra persuasion to get into park. Internal damage to the transmission is also plausible if the trans was abused in some way. That could include putting stress on the park mechanism, even as little as parking on a steep hill and relying on the transmission cawl instead of the parking brake. The vehicle needs to be put up on a lift to check for obvious linkage problems--otherwise it gets more serious.

PO496 What is it?

This DTC tests for undesired intake manifold vacuum flow to the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. The control module seals the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve Closed and the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve Closed. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor to determine if a vacuum is being drawn on the EVAP system. If vacuum in the EVAP system is more than a predetermined value within a predetermined time, this DTC sets.

I am getting codes Po449 and P0455 on my 2004 GMC

This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

Assuming you put on the proper gas cap and one of high quality, I would inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary.

Ihave a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup. My check engine

Did you check the wiring connections for corrosion? Clean them up with some sandpaper so you have bare shiny metal. Do the terminals come off easily or move side to side? Crimp them with a pair of pliers to tighten them up and put them back on. Did you examine the wire harness going to the O2 sensor to check for bare spots in the insulation? Tape up any suspicious spots that appear to have been rubbing and pay close attention to spots where the harness bends. Any of these could reduce the voltage at the sensor . Hope this helps.
