Camshft timing mark of mazda mpv 1997
I found on my 97 3.0L mpv the cam timeing gears there is a dot . now on the head there is a arrow, left cam gear would point too around the 9 oclock poistion, right cam gear would point too around the 3 oclock , crank gear is marked as well a dot and lines up with a arrow . I made sure to rotate the engine by hand after the belt was installed two times to insure the timing marks all came back too top dead center. I also took off the dist. cap to make sure the rotor was pointing at number 1 spark plug wire good luck take the time
Good Luck
How long to replace a timing belt on 98 MPV 3.0
I dont think you should attempt this. I dont think it will have bent valves. When you replace the belt, replace the water pump and ALL the pulleys (2) , and tensioner pulley and spacer , all the oil seals. no special tools are involved, but you need to know what you are doing.
Installed a new distributor but it still won't
Why did you install a distributor? Do you have spark? You need an assessment of why it won't start, are you sure it's not a fuel problem? Take it to a mechanic. You'll spend a fortune guessing at things.
Car stalls changed spark plugs
Not a lot to go on! Remove the distributor cap and see if turns when the engine is cranked. My guess is the timing belt is shot. Frankster016
Electric window on 98 Mazda MPV motor grinding
Usually, once you get the motor and assembly out, you can just purchase the motor alone and install it on the original assembly. The original motor is most likely riveted in place. You'll have to drill out the rivets. The new motor will either come with small bolts or new rivets, I've seen them both ways. The fun part is reinstalling the entire assembly. My advice is not to buy a cheap motor from say for example Ebay. I bought one for $25.00 and it is slow as molasses, I should have sent it back but that's my point exactly. If you don't buy locally, you might pay less but it's a big pain in the rear to find out that you not only have to R&R the assembly again, but now you have to package it back up, get an RMA, wait to receive the replacement, etc... you see where I'm going with this. Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my responce. Thanks.
