No fuel getting to carburator
Things you need to check:1. is there enough fuel in tank?2. You can hear fuel pump motor running? If your car has electronic fuel pump then most of the time these pumps are the main culprit. Its fitted inside the tank and you can hear its sound when you switch on the ignition key. Open the fuel filler cap and try to hear from there. If you cannot hear, check for fuel pump fuse under the hood. There should be a fuse box with diagram showing which fuse is of what thing in car. If nothing works, you probably need to replace the pump.3. If your car has manual pump (not electronic) then you should see a roundish thing under the hood connected to engine in which fuel line is coming from tank and then going to carb. Pull out the outlet pipe and crank the car for 10 sec. and see if you get any fuel. If not then this manual pump should be replaced.

Hi i have an 86 jimmy 2.8 and the other day i was
It sounds like you have rod knock in your engine. Stop driving your Jimmy and have a mechanic look at the engine immediately. You may have already damaged your block by having a rod poke through it.
I am only guessing at this since you did lose power. The rod closest to your flywheel might have broken or bent, causing a loss of power under load.
Sorry for your conundrum, and I hope this helped.

i would check to see if you are getting fire from the coil, if not, i would have the coil checked out , and if bad , replace it, "if you are still having problems with it not starting, then i would check the fuel pressure.

Truck turns over trys to start and sometime back
Turn the distributor to where it fires the best, snug it down slightly then remove the cap. look inside the cap and check for cracks and debris or a damaged rotor, Could be the module or the wires to it are the culpret, or the timing chain or belt has slipped, if so it may not start. Next try to safely turn the engine to where the pointer on the front behind the lowest pulley lines up with a line on the balancer, preferably at the 0 degree mark, look at the rotor position, maybe put a mark on the housing, set the cap back on and see if the rotor is inline with a plug wire, if not rotate the distributor to the point of alignment, the shaft should not turn but the housing will turn around it. This only a crude quick check but might get you going.

I have a 1986 gmc jimmy 2.8l and it lacks power
hi sorry for the info you got, sounds like there could be a few things i would check before the advice given. change fuel filter, a partially clogged filter will not allow enough gas through, also if air filter is dirty or mass air flow sensor is dirty this can happen as well, a clogged exhaust whether muffler or cat convertor can cause issues as well. spark plug wires that are old break down under load as well. timing could be off a bit due to a worn belt/chain usually belt.. also bad gas with low octane can cause lack of power.. just some ideas i hope help you out....good luck...

Fuel pump runs all the time. wont shut off even
Hi!!Replace fuel pump relay ASAP, it is stuck open and the pump will be damaged. It is located on the engine compartment fuse box. Disconnect negative cable from battery in the mean time.
Good Luck!!
