2001 Dodge Dakota - Page 6 Questions & Answers
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota with 3.9, Im getting a no bus ,I can communicate with my pcm,but can't communicate with other modules. Do anyone have a suggestions to what might be my problem?
TO START BEST TO SEE IF THE PCI BUSS IS IN COMPLETE FAILURE OR IN INDIVIDUAL MODULE NO RESPONSE. THESE ARE THE TWO FAILURE MODES OF THE PCI BUSS IN YOUR YEAR VEHICLE BY CHRYSLER CORP. . SO DO ANY OF THE POSSIBLE 11 MODULES COMMUNICATE TO THE SCAN TOOL? IF YOU WERE USING THE DRBIII FIRST THING UNDER NO RESPONSE FROM ANY MODULE WOULD BE TO PERFORM A MODULE SCAN TO DETERMINE IF ONLY ONE MODULE IS NOT ON BUSS OR IS THERE NO RESPONSE ON THE BUSS AT ALL. NOW IF YOUR SCANTOOL IS AFTERMARKET THERE IS A ALTERNATE WAY TO DETERMINE STATUS OF BUSS THIS WOULD BE TO TAKE A SENSITIVE DVOM AND ON THE ALDL PROBE THE PCI BUSS WIRE AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE THE BUSS PLUSES BETWEEN 0 AND7.5 VOLTS IF YOU SEE A CONTINUOUS ZERO VOLT STATE THEN YOU NOW KNOW THAT THE ENTIRE BUSS IS DOWN THAT MEAN THAT EACH MODULE WILL HAVE A SET DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE THAT WILL NEED TO BE RUN THROUGH. IF YOU SEE 7.5VOLT THEN THE BUSS IS ACTIVE AND ONLY THE MODULES THAT HAVE NO RESPONSE WILL NEED ATTENTION . DATA CIRCUIT WIRES ARE YELLOW WITH A PURPLE TRACE OR PURPLE WITH A YELLOW TRACE AND JUST BEHIND THE ALDL IS THE JUNCTION CONNECTOR WERE ALL THE COM LINES GO INTO ONE FOR SCAN TOOL CONNECTION . REMEMBER A NO RESPONSE RECORD IN REGARDS TO SCANTOOL DATA THIS WILL BE SHOWN IF THE VEHICLE IN NOT EQUIPPED WITH SAID MODULE. SO DON'T GET LOST CHASING THINGS THAT AREN'T THERE HOPE THIS WILL HELP. I WILL CHECK BACK LATER TO SEE IF YOU POST ANY ANSWERS TO THOSE QUESTION WHICH WILL HELP ME FINE TUNE MY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REPAIR STRATEGIES.
Fix ya
The running boards for my Liberty did not come with brackets that fit directly into holes in the frame. I had to do some drilling. It's been so long ago I don't remember if I had a template or if it just had a diagram. But mine were from Chrysler so that probably helped since they were made FOR that vehicle. If yours are aftermarket you will probably have to prop them up in place and make some marks where to drill. I suggest you treat any areas you drill with rust proofing spray, the black sticky kind. Once you have it propped up you might find there are holes or detents that line up with the brackets on your rails.
Watch out for fuel lines and wires when drilling.
If you are not comfortable doing that, visit a few independent shops and get estimates for installation.

How do i replace the blower motor
Your handy dandy shop manual will explain this, but many vehicles require that you remove the passenger inner fender panel to gain access.
To turn off the airbag light on my truck
If your airbag light is on, that means the airbag doesn't work in case of a crash. So it's important you get it checked, most likely there is a bad contact between the airbag ecu and the airbag, a common bad contact is in the wiring in the steering collum.
