Question edited for clarity. Question moved to sub category. Very difficult to diagnose such problems purely because they are intermittent. It could be a sensor, but more likely a bad contact or broken wire in the wiring harness. Yes. Fix ther oil light issue. Could be something sinnister.

There is a gang of fuses on top of the battery under a plastic cover. These burn out.... make up a jumper fused wire to the loom using parts from your FLAPS.

Even if the fuses look good your find the holder burnt in the plastic.

first...the last question. I'm not kidding here..the least harmful to the top the best solvent for tree sap (pine, etc) is Mayonnaise. Like Hellmans or a brand like it. put on let sit and clean up with a soft cloth then wash the whole top. I could give you different chemicals that I know work too but there are issues with them if you don't know what your doing. What model VW do you have? that would help a bunch. when you say "trim tab" is it the leading piece on the top. Or the trim at the top of the window? your ac compressor is not good

could be a problem oil pressure sender or sensor following the flush check first using a mechanical gauge to check oil pressure and then replace the faulty unit

The blown head gasket problem that you repaired may have damaged the O2 sensor. A 2004 probably needs one anyway

there should be h 4 halogen bulbs in the car that do not require a ballast ballasts are an after market fittment to run LED lights if there is no requirement for the ballast then yes warranty is void I suggest that you take it to an accredited auto electrician and discuss the problem as to why it would have a ballast and the potential wiring problems that could result

This can be caused by a bad fuse, or a fuse with corroded or poor contacts, or a faulty headlight switch, or a problem with your wiring. Start with the fuse, then try turning the headlights on and off a few times to see if that helps. Otherwise, into the shop ...

Note: the cost to purchase at a dealer a new part to change the lock may be excessive. You may be able, if you have the time, and can locate a -- Used Car Auto Parts store -- to find a part from a scrap car. Maybe you can live without it?

I seen lot of time on the battery on top remove the plastic cover leave the car running and check if the fuses therminal get hot if so remove the nut and clean the contact but be carefull it get very hot dont burn yourself hot enough to melt the plastic inside that a great video example but you dont need to change it repair it good luck pierre p.s the black wire is the most common one to burn that the alternator feed

Check All Fuses In Fuse Bracket (at battery) Especially Fuse 176 (110amp)--It Powers Load Reduction Relay--In Thirteen Position Auxiliary Panel- Behind Left Side Of Dash--Integral With Relay Panel. Load Reduction Relay Powers Everything That Is Not Working.

Bad fusible link would be the first thing I would look for, looks like a wire that would feed the box with all of those breakers and fuses in it
