I am attaching a link for a very detailed fuse box diagram for all MK3 VW's:

You can take the door handle off the drivers side and replace the tumblers in the key slot or just remove the tumbler pieces and then any key will turn in the lock. What really matters is that you have to center the door latch lock piece with a lock or a flat screw driver.the line up should be straight up and down in side the door you can see it when you get the door handle off.

try going to an accredited service center that has a scanner capable of reading VW and just resetting the system or the scanner will indicate the faulty sensor that can be replaced

You need to the BCM (body control module) scanned, it may be defective.

In order to hot wire your Cabrio, you'll have to remove covers to your ignition switch and around the steering column. If you are doing then, you're better off just replace the ignition switch. Might help if you share as mush information as possible, as to what your problem is and what you have done so far to correct the problem.

could be a vacuum leak, any check engine light?

You just need to add some brake fluid to the reservoir. The float switch turns on the light when the car is not leveled because the fluid is low.

Go to Auto Zone or your local repair shop and have them check it with a code reader. Auto zone wont charge you, your local shop shouldnt either. They can tell you the problem, and what it will taske to fix it. You can go from there.

P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input) P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical make sure ur shifter is in park - otherwise it is a repair issue.

Look at base of steering column find brake pedal shaft and you will find a switch which is depressed with pedal up and released with pedal down. Check fuses too.

Quit Smoking? Or check the fuse. maybe the lighter element is burned out? Try another lighter.
