It's likely there is a security code for the radio which since being "disconnected" thinks the battery has been removed. Check with dealer by vin. They probably have the security code in their system.

What about them? Theres one on the crank and one on the cam. Line them up. If not sure, bring #1 to TDC (top dead center), check by removing spark plug and turn over by hand with finger over hole. When air hisses out, carefully place in long 1/4" extension and watch it go up, and when it peaks its at #1 TDC. Marks should now be aligned.

I take it they switch off when u turn your lights off then? I would check to see if the double filament bulbs are in the correct way round. also check for corrosion in the bulbholder assembly and the plug

Your electrical system surged. Had the same happen on a 97 Golf. Start by replacing fuses connected to your starter and engine systems. If nothing happens, you may have to hit a VW repair shop for a systems reset, unfortunately.

You surged the electrical system. Had a 97 Golf that did the same and had to be towed to the dealer for a reset. They disconnect the battery again and had to reset everything plus probably replace a few fuses. I'd start with fuses connected to your starter and engine systems.

You could measure it!

Remove the oil filter and there is a nut that you take off (same threads as oil filter) the oil filter adapter will become loose, continue to slide it off, on the engine side of the adapter is the O-Ring, replace the o-ring and install in reverse order.

needs a new reostat ,whever it is as some are seperate but some are built in to blower motor housing

Hi Vince, I'm glad to help! Vince, I've been fixing A/C problems for over 40 years and the thing I mostly find is no Freon in the system. But sense you have charged your A/C I'd say you have an electrical problem. These types of problems can be time consuming to figure out. Example is the Engine Controller could be seeing something it doesn't like, the A/C control head could be bad or the LED light could be out and not lighting, the compressor clutch coil could be defective and I could go on and on. So you see there are a lot of things that can cause your issue. I live in the St Peters Mo area and would be glad to help you but right now I'm roofing my house because the insurance company would not honor the claim. sounds like a vaccuum hose issue. One is probably cracked so its no longer creating a vaccuum.

Is the "check engine"/"service engine soon" light on? The computer will disable the cruise control automatically if it is, regardless of the cause
