Have 97 vw jetta, disabled alarm how to get radio working
First on the driver side remove the panel where the drivers knees would be. when u do u will be able to see ur fuses and a bunch of wires. way up in the dash there will be 2 modules, one has a a 6 wire connector and one has a 10 wire connector, unplug them both, then ur alarm will be off but it kills your starter, to keep the starter workin connect the 5 and 6 wire from the 6 wire connector together.
Need 97 jetta radio code
This is a royal pain. You need the code from the owners manual. If you don't have it you will need to go to a dealer and give them the VIN and the serial number from the radio. You must pull the radio. On some models the first digit is understood as a "1" so it only shows three digits on the display.
If it will not accpet the code guess what, you are **** out of luck. The guy at the dealership told me that sometimes the code will not go back in. It's a problem they are aware of but won't do anything about. The only solution is a new radio.
Do not in any circumstances pay for the code. This is a free service and any dealer that wants money for the code is ripping you off.
Electrical problems found on a hooter of a jetta
sometimes u may be able to find this documentation online especially if it is an older car. If not u need to buy a manual that may be available at a parts store. Generally not as good as the mfg service manual but a lot cheaper.
5-spdt M/T. Why has it stopped shifting into reverse?
Firstly check if you have gearbox oil in it seldomly so happens that a gearbox makes a noise but when it does make a kind of winding noise the gear inside the box has gotten damaged. Sometimes when lucky if you add gearbox oil the noise goes away.
2008 Volswagen Jetta power locks will not lock doors
Hey- so i had this same problem. Neither of the rear doors would lock/unlock consistantly. All I had to do was spray a ton of WD-40 in the latch area and all around where the red manuel lock lever was on the door and then work that red manuel lock lever back and forth for about 20 min and now it works great! Hope this helps.
1997 volkswagen jetta fan trouble
- If the fans not working at all, you can test them with a jumper wire.
- Pull the plug off of the temp sensor which is mounted to the bottom of the radiator.
- Be careful to stay clear of the fan blades because they will come on during this test even without the car turned on.
- Use a paper clip or other stiff wire to jumper across the connections on the plug on the wire side (not radiator side).
- One connection is power and the other 2 are ground (hi and low).
- If the fans work with this test, there is nothing wrong with your fans.
- If the fans work with this test, most likely problem is the fan control switch. It us directly under the coolant tank (has a clear plastic cover over a yellow fuse). This is fairly easy to replace, but make sure battery is disconnected if you do replace it. Also, make sure to remove any corrosion under the wire connectors if present.
