Intermitent low oil pressure problem

This vehicle as well most other Volkswagens of that era are notorious for oil sludge in the engine. Go to any Vw forum and you will see. You have to get this sludge out or otherwise it contaminates fresh oil and makes it lose its viscosity. As far as the oil pressure, DO NOT DRIVE WITH NO OIL PRESSURE. If it is making noise from the valve train, there is no pressure. Be very careful running it, you may ruin an internal engine part. If you can idle it until the noise lightens up, then you can drive as long as there is oil pressure.

Can I access the trunk of a 1992 Voltswagen Cabriolet from the inside?

Hi Sally, You'll need to remove the seat cushion (the lower part where people sit) At the bottom of the backrest there are bolts holding it in place. Once these are removed, lift the seat upwards removing it from the retainers. Depending on the model you may need to cut (or have cut) an opening through the bulkhead Be very careful of sharp edges when reaching through the opening. Depending on how badly damaged the boot is you may need to get assistance to open the boot. Once open it may not stay closed again so be careful of that too. Regards John
