If your shift lever is on the stirring colum, there is a button in the colum itself directly underneath the lever that usually retracts whrn you press the breaks, but in this case it isn;t. Simply remove the right portion of the stirring colum and press the button and put in gear while holding it that is a quick solution on putting it in gear but it is not a permenent fix.

It sound like you need a new starter. I am not not sure why they serviced the distributor, but you mentioned the engine doesn't turn over. The only other thing could be a bad neutral safety switch or ignition switch. Have someone check the "signal" wire to the starter for switched power( power when you turn the key to start position). If power is present, I'd replace the starter. If not, check Ign. switch or neutral safety switch. I hope this helps

I expect the thermal fuse on the heater fan switch has failed. Usually due to a stiff motor bearing or something that has made the motor stiffer to turn than normal.

Mazda MPV Cars &... | Answered on Oct 18, 2017 | 145 views

sounds like the radiator is blocked either coolant flow or ext air flow through the matrix the thermostat can get ruined when the system overheats so allways change the stat after a overheat problem GET THE RAD CHECKED FIRST if ok check the coolant pump

I am led to believe that from 2000 the ecm of the mazda cars could be programmed for better performance with the use of a laptop with a special mazda program
try talking to performance shops as they are most likely to have the programs or can advise if it is possible to reprogram

it may be in the back of the alternator or if it is late model it will be in the ECM unit so schematics may be hard to come by
you may get a schematics if you can get a diagram of the alternator .
