Mazda bongo 2.5 turbo diesel 1996. over heating
no im a mechanic it sounds like that you have an air lock in the cooling system .i am familiar with ford freda and bongo and the design where the engine is is a bit far from the radiator ,so the problem with air locks magnifies.really the solution is just drain the water and refill it slowly while you are pressing and releasing, just repeat the action on the top radiator hose to get rid of any air trapping within the system,it's as simple as that really.you want it to have just water and no air as this will cause a blockage.

1996 Mazda MPV 4 WD. Mechanic installed new belts
Yes the wire must have been knocked off when the mechanic fixed the belt. Look under the hood for temperature sensor. Its on the motor near the front around the area where the thermostat goes. You may find the wire close by and a "bare" terminal to put it on. Otherwise go back to the mechanic and have him put it back on since he knocked it off in the first place!

The diesel consumption is very high
Check that air filter is clean & check for bent or crushed exhaust components. There is really not many other things that can cause a higher than normal fuel consumption on a diesel. Also make sure that the transmission is not slipping & the brakes or wheel bearing are not dragging.

Car shakes alot when first turned on.and is
The shake could be caused by a lot of things. The FIRST thing you need to look at is the motor mounts- are they still intact and connected? The second problem is not so good sounding, and my have been caused by the first, should it be the motor mounts. If you have broken a mount and the motor smashed into frame or broken mount, a cracked block may have occurred, allowing water to enter the motor causing the smoke. I would overall have it checked out before driving it for distances. (Check the coolant level on your vehicle to see if it has had any loss recently)

96 mazda mpv minivan 165k mi. Ran fine until one
I was browsing unsolved problems. If you still have the problem, I'll try to help you. But it's going to be awhile trying to communicate back and forth. First...Check the engine for spark. Take off a plug wire and stick a screw driver in the wire end and place the metal part of the screw driver next to something on the van that's metal. Have someone crank it over for just a second or two and see if a small spark jumps from the screw driver to the metal part. I'll check back for your answer.

How to adjust belt sqealing problems?
If this vehicle has one serpentine belt chances are the belt must be replaced, look to see if there are visible cracks on the contact surface of the belt if so replace the belt if not then there may be a component in the pulley system that is starting to seize, the squeal is the pulley wheel offering more resistance at certain times therebye causing the noise, with the belt off try turning each pulley to see if binding is occuring, also check each pully wheel for loosness or play the bearing may be worn if play is detected.

Brakes squeling
This could be caused by the brake pads wearing down so far that the metal rivets that hold it together are now rubbing on the rotor. It could also be glazed pads or excess builup of brake dust. I would recommend checking brake pads first. If they are still good clean them, and maybe apply some brake pad goo. They sell that to help stop brake squeal at most auto parts stores.
