1996 Mazda MPV Questions & Answers
1996 MAZDA MPV HEAT WONT GET HOT ENOUGH
You need to put a higher temperature thermostat in. Try a 200 degree thermostat and make sure that you have a full radiator. Also you could dilute your antifreeze a little more than 50/50 .
I would also try a 70/ 30 mix. Hope this helps.
THE HEATER WILL NOT GET HOT
You might have a bad thermostat, you might just be low on coolant, and check the actual radiator, not the plastic overflow tank. If both of those are fine, you could have a restricted heater core, you can check that by touching both heater core hoses, if one hose is hot and the other isn't, then it's clogged.
My alarm is on but wont shut off
Use only your key to unlock, open the door, then lock and unlock the door again, then get in and start the car. This will reset it. No spark from coil
You'll have to get the circuit tested - could be a list of things.Fuse, relay, module, key switch, cam or crank sensor if equipped, or the coil itself.
Engine light came on
Engine light could mean a lot of things. You need to have an On Board
Diagnostic (OBD I scanner for 1995 and older model or OBD II scanner for
1996 and newer model) scanner and a car repair manual to decode the
problem. You can also take the car to the automotive store for them to
check for free.
