remove inner panel look for hidden screws panel may have pop out clips so pull at panel gently should be 2 10 mm nuts that hold it in pop up clip pull out handle rod etc.

This is most likely due to bad wires to the map sensor, Follow the wires from the sensor back to the loom and check the ground connection.

Drain the coolant, remove the exhaust pipe(s) from the exhaust manifolds, remove heater hoses from heads, remove, rocker covers from the heads,remove cam belt covers and cam belt, undo the head bolts, and remove heads, this is a short version of removing the heads, but I got the feeling this job might be a little big, if you don't know for sure what you doing. special if it has to go back together as well.

yes, it has. Remove the single screw in the foot well panel on the passenger side. Lift the panel out of the foot well. The filter is exposed in the area the panel was covering. Pull the old filter straight out of the filter compartment. Pull it toward the rear of the 626 to remove it. Install a new filter by reversing the steps. removing an engine is a major undertaking requiring tools , equipment and a good understanding of the process, if you want to do it yourself the best advice i can give is get a workshop manual that will give you step by step instructions , you will then know if you want to tackle the job

The small metal line leaving the reservoir going to the rack will be the pressure hose. The rack itself is also a good source for a leak. You basically need to get the van up in the air and dry everything off the best you can and look for a source of your fluid loss.
