Both headlights are not working in 2002 Safari Van
Check both headlight bulbs, check for power and ground (the ground wire is black). If no power either wire to ground remove the headlight switch in the dash. The bezel around the cluster just pulls away. Check the connector to the switch. The large red wire (power) or the black (ground) may be burnt. Repair if possible or replace if melted. There isn't a headlight fuse. If only one setting works (eg. hi beam only both sides, no lo beam) then the dimmer switch is at fault. Its part of the turn signal switch.
Suerte.
I have a 2002 GMC
How long has it been since the spark plugs were changed? Sounds like a good tuneup is in order. New spark plugs(try the new E3 plugs, expensive, but worthit), Air filter, fuel filter, injector cleaner in gas tank.
My family van is a 2002 Safari van would not start
But it should start if you put the Starting fluid in. Is there any spark at the plugs ? Try to pull the one of the spark plugs wires and put it close to a metal space then crank it again and see if there is any spark , You can hear it sparking.
Power steering and brakes dont
Hello cindygariepy: My name is Roger and I will help you. Yes they are connected. The truck uses a brake system called Hydra-Boost. There is no vacuum booster like the cars use. Hydro-boost brakes use the power steering system as a source of power assist for the brakes. You need to check to make sure the fan belt is still on the engine. Should the belt brake you will loose power steering and brakes. Next check to make sure the power steering has fluid. If you have a leak in the power steering system and the system is extremely low you will loose steering and brakes. Generally when the system is low you hear a noisy growl when turning the steering wheel. These are the usual problems that occur when you loose both the power steering and brakes at the same time. There is one other part that could cause the condition . That would be a hydro-boost failure. If it fails there would be a lot of fluid leaking at the driver side of the vehicle in front of the driver seat outside on the ground. Power steering fluid is a clear oil. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

2002 Safari wont take gas in tank at any rate of
if you turn the key to ignition on, the fuel pump motor turns on for two seconds, if you recognize that the pump is working, there will be a clogging inside the fuel pump or at the strainer. if you remove the fuel pump that there is no stain or clogging at the pump assembly, the problem is your fuel pump. replace it
How can i remove the alternator from a 2002 gmc
use a ratchet without any socket on the idler/tensioner pulley, this will loosen the tension on the belt to be able to remove it. after that, it's easier to remove the alternator with the braket still on, that bracket has a few long bolts 3-4 to remove, the, disconnect wires from alternator. installation is reverse procedure as always
The back door won't unlock or open and the front
Simple enough to reset the power locking system:
1) make sure battery in remote is good, if in doubt replace it. Next unlock all the doors and keep them closed.
2) Jack up the car and you'll find the power lock reset button above the fuel tank. If you cant reach it drop the tank down slightly until you are able.
3) Depress the power lock reset button, then get inside the car and hold the unlock button on the remote for 2 min.
4) The system will reset when you get out of the car and hold the lock button for another 2 min while circling the car briskly.
Van won't start, when I turn ignition key there is
The only way to verify if a battery is good is by a load test, but...a volt meter will also give you a good idea. If you have a failing starter, the solenoid will click instead of engaging. You can tell by testing voltage with a meter. You have two wire going to the starter. The large one is from the battery, and the voltage should be the same as the battery, as it is there all of the time. The second and smaller wire gets positive volts only when you turn the key to "start" the engine. If you have these, the starter is the issue.
