No the 4l60e is a electronic transmission you need to find a 700r4 transmission which are very common. Check with your local junk yards and are pretty easy to install. About a full days worth of work for a person with general know how of vehicles.

Does your check engine light come on when key is turned to on? That is an alert that ECM is powered. In the field, pretty near impossible to test or know if ECM is bad. A dealer's shop could probably test it, but it might be expensive. What am I saying, might be...Dealers are very expensive! If you had a wiring diagram, you could disconnect battery, then pull connectors from the ECM, reconnect battery, and check the proper pins that power the unit for voltage-often they receive power on more than one wire. Be sure and check all your fuses in the power distribution box under the hood.

Could be worn out speed sensor.

700R4 TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE ONE BUT THE THM350 400 AND 475 TRANSMISSION S MODULATOR VALVE LOCATED REAR BACK BOTTOM CASE ABOVE OIL PAN ON TRANSMISSION CASE.

on that year i did not find one either when i rsearched it . so i"am going to say that headlight switch and relay all in one . . but if you have a enigine type fuse box check it anyway or goto headlight swtich and follow the wiring down a bit and see if there is anything connected to it .

Check the fuel pressure with a gauge when the engine is hot.Could be a faulty pump, or pump relay.

I would probably start with the fuel system. Change the fuel filter if you have not yet, and then check fuel pressure with a gauge.Is the check engine light on ?
