When not running the engine for a week, the battery dies. When I jump start it, engine will start cranking very slow and pickup speed before it starts running.

it seems like the battery is going. clean battery terminals, also the grounding to the body (engine block, transmission, etc.) all should be shiny cleaned. suggest you go to autozone (or other auto parts) for a free battery & alternator tests.

After replacing battery radio will not work

Sounds like the anti theft system was activated somehow by the lack of current from the battery. Try some web searches or look for an owners forum, or check out the Taurus owners forum which I've linked for you below. Chances are good someone else has had this problem too and someone will have posted the fix. http://www.taurusclub.com/

You could have got a bad coil pack. Primary and secondary are the coil pack. Possibilities are plug wires and spark plugs also. not likely though.

Engine block number location 2001 mustang 3.8

SHOULD BE NEXT TO THE MOTOR MOUNT ON THE BLOCK AND IT IS NOT STAMPED IN LIKE YOU THINK.. THEIR IS A SMALL FLAT SPOT AND IT IS ENGRAVED . SO BE CAREFUL WHEN CLEANING IT OFF.. NO HARD BRISTLE WIRE BRUSH. USE A TOOTH BRUSH TO CLEAN OFF .. IT IS ENGRAVED.. I KNOW. IT MUST BE EASIER THAN PUTTING A STAMP ON THEM NOW..

to reset an ECM (CPU) program it will be necessary to use a scanner tool. The idle program is already in the cpu so all it takes is to reset the corrupted cpu program

Engine block stamped number location

its by the motor mount bracket area.. on the block.. its really hard to see. so you need to clean it off really really good.. and don't use a wire brush for they are not stamped in the deep.. they are barely their... should be a flat spot in front of the mount on the block.. get plenty of light and a some really good glasses to see it.. it looks like they used a engraving tool on it.. not a stamp like we are use too .. just be careful cleaning it.. NO WIRE BRUSH... IF SO VERY VERY LIGHTLY..

My 2001 Mustang 3.8 makes a lot of noise at high speeds. Even at an idle, the noise is noticeable and seems to be coming from the alternator/pully area. I have replaced both items and the belt itsel

You've looked at 2 things it drives, follow that round all units driven by the drive belt. Is it engine speed related? If so what can you hear under the hood when you rev up? If its not too difficult can you run the engine for a minute without the belt fitted. Don't run for long because of overheating. Listen then without all the bits rotating.

After replacing the front brake pads and rotors on my 2001 mustang the calipers are not releasing enough , you can hardly turn the front wheels by hand and the brakes are running hot . How do I get th

Calipers retract after the brakes are released by the slight wobble and rotation of the rotor. What is probably occurring on your vehicle is that the caliper pistons, having been extended due to the worn pads, may have developed rust ridges that prevent the piston from retracting completely. You may have to carefully extend the caliper piston(s) without dislodging them from the bore, then I would first use a brake cleaner on the piston surface. If that fails to work, very fine emery may work. Be sure to remove all residue to prevent seal damage. Do not use any unrecommended solvents as they can damage o-rings and seals
