Like Laurie Mack said. It is the inertia switch below the glove box. Here is some funny information. DON'T change the fuel pump first. Interesting fact: I bought the new inertia switch from Ford and the install instructions that came with it said to install the switch in the protected area to the right where the fuses are. It is like Ford knows it was a dumb place to put the inertia switch, but they won't let you know until after you buy a new one. I have read at least 20 other people on here that had the same problem I just had.

According to my book, it looks like a bad O2 sensor, the sensor behind the catalytic converter on the passenger side exhaust.

Bank 1, Sensor 2.

You can pick one up at the parts store for around $75.

I do not know if you have the 3.0L or 4.0L Engine, regardless they have the same diagrams.

For the 3.0L AND 4.0L:
Firing Order:
1-4-2-5-3-6
Cylinders:
(back of engine)
3-------------6
2-------------5
1-------------4
(back of engine)
Ignition Coil:
(back)
3...4
2...6
1...5
(front)

Let me know if this helped...

my 2005 ford ranger a/c is not working all the

my 2005 ford ranger a/c is not working all the sudden, could it be a fuse?

My AC quit all of a sudden and it was a switch in the ac line. It was located on one of the air conditioner lines almost next to the firewall. Looked like a little box. When the p/u was running and the ac was turned on, I tapped it with a screwdriver handle and the ac compressor came on. I think it was a low pressure switch and is supposed to keep the ac from running without any freon, so you might try that. Best of luck.<!-- from fixya rte -->

positive crankcase valve is located on the back of the valve cover on the right valve cover i believe if your looking at the engine, you will need to remove some hoses to be able to access the pcv valve, here is a diagram to helpnissankid88_1.gifnissankid88_2.gif

Engine Timing marks on a 4.0 ford ranger on a 2005

need to know where the timing marks are on a 2005 ford ranger with a 4.0 engine

Answer

Rotate the engine so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke. Check that the timing marks are aligned on the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys. An access plug is provided in the cam belt cover so that the camshaft timing can be checked without removal of the cover or any other parts. Set the crankshaft to TDC by aligning the timing mark on the crank pulley with the TDC mark on the belt cover. Look through the access hole in the belt cover to make sure that the timing mark on the cam drive sprocket is lined up with the pointer on the inner belt cover.
