2005 Volkswagen Golf - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Hi i have a 2003 golf tdi wife informed me that
You say that you checked the glow-plugs and that they are good.
How about power to the glow-plugs when cold.Is it getting 12v to the glow-plugs when you turn the key on for glow-plugs? You need to check that and if like I suspect it is not. check the temperature sensor--
Also if there is a short in any one of those glow- plugs it will not let the solenoid engerize the glow-plugs.
Near side carpet soaking both in front & rear
both front and rear doors have a polythene liner that must be sealed allround to stop water ingress, chances are its the front one at the rear.you need to take off the door panel and use duct tape to seal it.
panel is just clips/self tappers.(you could use a flourencent dye but that is expensive but quicker)
you must find the leak asap cos the ecm is under the front seat.
Engine fault Garage
you just have an engine code. connect a scan tool and pull the code. write down the code and it will help with diagnosis.
I need the wiring diagram for a radio in a vw golf
It is best to buy an adapter from the stero shop so that you just pulg it in and you don't cut wires, if you do this you will have less problems you may even cause the car not to run if it has a security system so buy the adaper it's worth the 7 bucks trust me on this.
My car won't start-2005 vwgolf tdi gl, what should i do?
There are many reasons for a vehicle not starting and isolating the problem with no specifics if very difficult. Here is some advice however. If you can disconnect the Negative Battery terminal and jump the vehicle and then disconnect the vehicle that provided power then you have a bad battery as a general rule. If after the vehicle is running you disconnect the vehicle which provided power and your vehicle dies then the most likely problem is the Alternator. If you jump the vehicle and go to Auto Zone, they will help you remove the battery and test it for you for free.
Ho0w do you replace the rear brake pads on a 2006
It is like any car really, except when it comes to the piston retraction. To make room for the new pads the piston must be twisted counter-clockwise as it is pushed back. There is a special tool for this...around $30 for a KIT or borrow one from the autozone.
I removed the entire caliper to make it easy, which means you will need a little rubber tube to plug the brake line from bleeding out after you remove the screw that holds the line on the caliper.
Do one side at a time, and you can always refer to the other for reassembly. It is really simple. The parking brake is self adjusting and spring loaded...one on the top back of each caliper. Push on the spring loaded cam and remove parking brake cable with needle nose pliers.
The calipers have 2 bolts/guide pins and the bracket has 2 bolts to mount it to the wheel hub.
Even though the line was plugged, it is still a good idea to bleed the brakes. Push brake pedal, open bleeder screw at top of caliper then close, release brake. Repeat untill no air bubbles can be heard, and the pedal feels solid/normal. Don't forget to refill brake fluid.
Good Luck.
OBDII CODE P0036 H02S BANK 1 SEN 2 HEATER CIRCUIT
The O2 sensor is after the catalytic converter, basically it's under on
the exhaust right about even under the front seats.
(on a 2.0 i believe there is a heat shield to remove to access)
You simply have to
unscrew it and then under the passenger seat (and you can see this even
with the car not jacked up) there's a small plastic black box about 4
inches square.
You unscrew that and that gives you access to the
electrical connector that the O2 sensor plugs into.
You can either buy
the factory part which plugs right in or go to ebay and type in
"universal bosch oxygen sensor" which will allow you to buy the sensor
you need for $35 including shipping.
This is probably a quarter of the
price of the factory part. Then you just cut the wires from the old
sensor, match the colors up, and connect them back together with the
included wiring connectors.
Most
importantly, this sensor is only to monitor if the catalytic converter
is working and nothing else. So, if you can't afford to fix it right
now, it doesn't affect fuel mileage or anything else and you can just
leave it be for now.
Thanks for using FixYa!!
Engine service warning lights
Hi,
You will need "VAG diagnostic software" - (google it) on a laptop and a £15 VAGCOM interface cable if you want to do it yourself.
Cheers, D.
Engine problem
In hot weather you will hear the Aux fan running. It can be very loud sometimes.
My car alarm keeps going off by itself. This
I have exactly the same problem! There is some water in the rubber gasket around the hatch and also on the latch, so I suppose there's water leaking in and disturbing the sensors.

I have a 2005 model vw sharan, and the rear
The fact that both do not work indicates that you probably have nothing inside the door hindering you, (unlikely both would fail at once), plus, it is doubtful that you have a power lock problem..as you post that it is working properly. The first thing I would check would be the child safety locks, a small switch on each door located in the jam. Good Luck I hope you find this to be very helpful!
