there is a small switch that closes when the trunk (boot) is closed, replace it.

shouldnt need take panels off just undo the slats take out the bulb circuit and in you go :)
think theres a couple bolts to undo but u can see once the bulb circuits out

common fault with Golfs is the window internals are made of plastic and are known to break or windows will fall in the door like yours have. you need to replace these with metal ones then u shouldnt have the problem then on.. bit daft of volwagen to use plastic but there ya go! hope it helps

The fusebox is on the drivers side, accessible when the driver's door is open, just below and forward of the switch for the lights.

My stereo did not work when I started my car one evening. I have read on wikianswers that it was fuse 37 or 42. Both fuses were fine, but upon reseating fuse 42 the cd player ejected the CD. When I turned the car on again it worked fine.

So I'd check those two fuses out. There should be a fuse card in the fuse box that show where each is. Lacking that, fuse 37 is the very bottom fuse in the middle row of larger fuses. Fuse 42 (my problematic one) is the 3rd fuse up on the right hand row of larger fuses.

fuse box under the bonnet take the cover off and it will tell u on the underside of the cover which fuse os down on the diagram its a 10 amp fuse . or u can take each one out one by one to check should solve the problem

get it to a reputable garage and have a diagnostic test done it will tell u if a relay switch or sencor is down worth spending £50.00 to check it

GTi didn't have a TDi. Start with the simple things...plugs/wires, fuel filter. Good test is to use a set of insulated pliers to remove plug wires from plugs while the car is idling, one by one. Listen for a change in RPM. Will lead you to the right cyl if it is a wire/plug/inj. problem. Good luck...

The problem is electrical, the radio is the clue, check the battery and charging system.

You will need to replace the CV joint at that wheel.

You have to replace the entire glovebox look on e-bay they aren't cheap!

Oil pump broken, or oil sensor on control panel faulty. First option more likely, contact a mechanic and have oil pump checked, do not use the car, as you can damage the engine.

run the fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor . check that the cam shaft is turning (broken cam belt)

The code should be on a card in the radio user manual.
